Ugh. I hate this idea that women have to do EVERYTHING in a relationship. They have to make the money or else they’re a gold digger, they have to cook, clean, wash the dishes and do the laundry, they have to take care of the child, and SOMEHOW they have to have the energy to act like emotional support to the man. My mom was the sole breadwinner of my house, and she worked all day and had to come back home to do all the housework. Meanwhile, my dad stayed at home, watched movies and ate junk food, and yet his parents and friends treated him like a martyr because SOMETIMES he would drive me to school or my piano lessons. And those friends demonized my mom for not doing enough for me. She did all the work, yet my dad got mad when the house wasn’t clean enough or when the food wasn’t tasty enough. Um, excuse me? Shouldn’t it be YOUR job considering you don’t have a job? I just hate the burden on women having to provide and be a housewife at the same time.
