It may be unreasonable depending on how much of a deal breaker it is for you. Not all social media is bad. There's a big difference between a man using Twitter to keep up with professional industry news versus a man using Instagram to follow big tit models.

I'd encourage you to explore the why behind wanting a man who doesn't use social media to better understand what specifically you're looking for. Is it because you think it is a waste of time? Is it because you have a bad experience with partners drooling over half naked women? Getting to the root of the issue will help you understand what you're specifically asking for.

My partner (30 M) is not on social media at all, besides a twitter account he uses to read news. I was actually shocked when I found out. There is something strangely refreshing about it, he seems like a whole human being not trolling the internet for women or seeking validation from strangers. He doesn't even use Reddit. It was a standard I didn't even know I had until he showed me what is was like to be with someone who isn't social media sick.

Do not lower your standards! It is well worth it to find a partner who isn't on social media.

My bf has facebook to post pictures of us and the activities we do to share with his friends and family. He's very close to them, but they all live far away so they use social media to keep everyone updated on their lives. I don't mind this at all. Big tittied IG models, though? No thanks.

Depends on your definition of “strange.” I imagine the population that fits this criteria will be small. Small doesn’t equal strange.

The worry with small populations is it can induce scarcity mindset. But if you’re content with knowing you may never find a man, then you’re already combating that issue.

I would also be wary. I believe there are guys who are legit and don’t have social media (whether due to stringent jobs, privacy concerns, etc.) But there are also many who don’t have them for nefarious reasons. So you have to watch for that.

Also, never ever ever ever tell a man that this is your standard. If you tell them they may lie and say they don’t have social media so you don’t look them up and find out they’re married or whatever. Always always wait for it to come out.

Totally understandable imo, especially since you know you’re already happy by yourself. Social media addicts are way more likely to cheat online and justify it as “just engaging virtually”, whether that’s watching porn, following Instagram models or flat out texting/sexting other girls. My most recent ex was an ugly, hairy sack of garbage who basically lived his life online and I can tell you these people are a big no-no. They’re not only severely lacking social skills but they also easily come up with excuses to justify infidelity. Not to mention being on their phones while supposedly spending time with you

I won't date men with social media like Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Tiktok, whatever-the-fuck-else. I just won't. I don't use those services myself anymore, and haven't in about a year, and I just won't date someone who has them.

I'm not asking any man I may date to stop using it, either. I want him to be like me in that regard, in that he just naturally has very little or no interest in it.

If he uses internet forums, I don't mind.

I know I may end up alone but that's fine. I would rather be alone than date some dude who's always looking at asses on Instagram lmao

I think it's a good standard to have. However it would be very hypocritical if you use reddit but expect him not to. It it was the other way around you'd be upset at the double standard.

There are some with a healthy amount of engagement in the online world, but not having any social media (at least when you ask him, in the early stages of knowing one another) might indicate he's got a wife or forever girlfriend he's trying to hide.

I don't think it's that unreasonable, although it may be hard to find someone that doesn't have any.

when my husband and I first got together, he had Facebook. I kept sending him articles about how they didn't care about their users/privacy (this is a topic I'm passionate about) and he eventually agreed that FB wasn't worth the trouble and deleted it. we both have Snapchat that we use from time to time, but no other SM.

it's certainly possible to find these types! maybe look for a guy that isn't into technology, or only uses SM casually/rarely.
