I was literally at a physics conference for women, and the male head of the physics department where it was being hosted said I'm so glad I could be a leading male role for all you women. All he did was come into the end of the lectures an announce himself as head. It was a women in physics conference ran by women ... and organized by women. You did nothing but remind us why we need to try harder to be recognized as capable of succeeding in this field! (I let them know in the survey).
