A couple of days ago, some bellend on /r/relationship_advice was saying how his religious girlfriend wanted to get married, so he left her that evening. Despite saying he loved her and was, in all other ways, really committed to her.

They’d been together for six years and she thought it was conflicting with her Christianity to have sex with him if marriage wasn’t endgame, so she said that she didn’t want to have sex with him anymore if he didn’t want to marry her.

Even without the religious aspect, this is completely fair. I’m an atheist but I would be super reluctant to carry on being intimate with a boyfriend once I realised I was going to be their foreverGF.

Anyway, almost everyone in the thread completely agreed with his point of view that this was completely unreasonable of her.

As if having access to someone’s pussy previously means you should always have access...

He wasn’t even looking for advice, just wanted people to validate that what he already did was the right thing.

You know what's scary? Most people think Reddit is full of incels and men who can't function (which it is).

But, you'd be surprised at how many men, conventionally attractive and with decent livelihoods, post here. I read an article about a (male) journalist who interviewed a guy who hated feminists. He posted all his hate on Reddit. Supposedly the guy was "normal".

Oftentimes I want to believe that Reddit doesn't reflect the world, but in many ways it does. I see similar comments on Instagram, Facebook, and I hear it in person. So when guys resort to sl@& shaming women for innocuous behavior, believe that this is normal for them, on and offline.
