I grew up in a place full of people like that. Its glamorized. Women specifically seek out these men. And if they arent "hard"enough (i.e. physically/emotionally/psychologically abusive) then they are seen as weak.

But the average HVW need not worry as these kinds of men date and reproduce with their equally low quality female counterparts. And live unhappily ever after. Happened to my older sister. 🤷‍♀️

What he’s describing is ptsd from inter generational trauma. It’s not up to his partner to fix it or even put up with it. I grew up in an environment like this and I’ve spent my entire adult life trying to overcome it and break the cycle, not perpetuate it ffs.

I have to speak on this. Using an alt account because that’s what mods suggested. Now my posts don’t get up because of flair but I hope this one does.

The ride or die mentality is a plague on women. There are so many allowances expected that it literally erodes a woman’s inner being.

This is a pick me hall of fame. This person she describes doesn’t have to be a “street person” more to the point a person who makes their living dealing drugs. The allowances you end up making because “we are living well by my doing crime that shouldn’t be a crime” are out of this world.

Young women and girls who grow up in an environment where this is glorified are overly at risk for falling into this type of abuse. Even when they themselves come from a stable and well off home. I did and have struggled to find a normal man attractive.

EX: phone calls at ALL hours are expected. When you question this you’re obviously crazy. Hiding everything from everyone is the norm. They want to use your name on all of the bills. Surprise! When the police come, whose house are all these drugs in? Yours. He is out all hours of the night, doesn’t come home until well past 2am. If you question this you’re crazy. This is work! Then you move every 6 months because they’re paranoid. Your house is a nest that you can never seem to keep up with. Why? They can’t possibly do a load of laundry or dishes. They’re so stressed from being this glorified dope boy that every free second is spent bragging or talking to random chicks on the Internet.

Then they get older. They find a way to be a legit societal version of “the man” they were in their glory days. In my case music business, which ended up being exponentially worse. Guess what you’re doing? Literally being a house slave to an over inflated ego maniac. You cook, you clean, you fuck on demand, you’re isolated, you get cheated on regularly, you’re abused, you’re berated for even suggesting any amount of equality.

Ride or die is a race to the depths of insanity. I feel for this woman. I was her in my delusion and youth. I never will be again. Even if I do find regular men to be lacking confidence and charisma. I’m working on that.

I’m a black woman who grew up in the hood. Was abused and violated because of it. I’m 20 years old and I’m more emotionally mature than my father. It’s called Therapy, Education, and the desire to grow. 💁🏾‍♀️🐸☕️ I know crackheads with more common sense! Men are so effing stupid. 🙄
