the one house husband i knew off did the cleaning/cooking but nothing else and just slept all day. She still had to do the shopping and half chauffeuring to after school activities so he could “finish dinner”....I looked at her like she grew another head when she told me the arrangement.

I would actually not mind a house husband if he could actually cook and clean correctly, but I just know I'll have to micromanage him nonstop...

Where im from, once you cooked a nice meal/do laundry for someone (not your partner, usually to an elder) .. they tell you "now you are ready to get married" 🤢🤢

It never sat right with me. Its a cultural thing I guess but they ingrain it so deep in your brain at a young age that cooking, cleaning is what makes you worth being wife-material.

Ugh I happened upon the original post in popular and one of the commenters says he’s happy to clean and cook in order to take those stressors out of his wife’s day.

Does he see himself even talking? If his wife wasn’t stressed about it, would he not? If he lived alone would he not cook or clean? I just can’t with these ppl

Lol, my dad was a house husband and all he did was sleep all day, cook dinner, and disappear into his room or garage for hours. Men really do think that this is the life of stay at home moms because they do shit like this when they are the stay at home parent.
