yup! 👏🏼 one of my coworkers isn’t a jerk, but does the bare minimum and expects everyone else to make up for his lack of work. I’m sure he’d give the same attitude/energy in a relationship

Haha I actually witness this bs at work. One guy was seemingly super kind and helpful. Until I heard him on the phone with our managers and other coworkers-MAJOR ASS. He eventually asked me out on a date, it’s a easy no for me.

I think this is one aspect of vetting, but isn’t enough to protect you from covert narcissists. And as someone who apparently attracts those guys stronger than steel to a magnet, its extremely frustrating. Like, is this an all around good guy? 6 months later - Nope, because he dropped his mask and now I’m 🎶 dealing with an emotionally abusive stalker 🎶

Try to call him while he’s at work to hear his tone when talking to others too. Does he mute himself or cover the speaker? If not, how is his tone and speed of his words. Even the words he says. If you have ever told someone how they come off and their only takeaway is that they should change their tone, but not the words, run.

Yup. I had a male friend once I’d never worked with, then he hired someone I knew and turns out he’s a psychotic asshole micromanager. Friendship ended immediately.
