I read the rules by Ellen fein and Sherrie schnieder. In it they discuss that a women never initiates contact with a man. Let him text you first, then wait at least half an hour to respond to any text.

If you dont want to ever speak to him again- block him and delete his number.

I practice out of sight out of mind. They need to be removed from all social media and you need to inform friends to not mention them ever again and if you two are to discuss them it must be you initiating. If they accidentally bring said person up say you no longer speak on them. It’s kind of militant but it works sis ❤️

If you have to go that far, just block him? You should feel safe enough to text whenever you want, and have it be a reciprocal connection. It's draining your energy by making you have to play mind games with yourself to know when it is appropriate to text him.
