Exactly. There are arguments about health, but even those are actually about fuckability. Since saying “I don’t find fat woman fuckable” makes you sound like an asshole, guys pretend it’s about health.

Most body positivity is still about your worth being linked to your physical appearance aka your fuckability.

This is why I advocate for body neutrality, which, by definition is "a philosophy that you should focus on what your body can do for you rather than what it looks like". Just focus on being the best version of yourself, physically and mentally and do it for yourself.

I'm sure body positivity meant well in the beginning but like a lot of movements, people will distort things to fit their provincial narrative.

Body positivity was supposed to be about accepting people with handicaps, disabilities, deformities, etc. Then it was co-opted. As a disabled person I despise this movement.

I had a friend who was obese and she was on all kinds of meds. She was big on the "body positivity" thing, and got angry when I mentioned my concern for her health. She ended her marriage and then was able to at healthy and had time to exercise. She dropped so much weight and she was able to cease most of her meds, as they were no longer concerned about her heart or cholesterol and shes no longer a prime candidate for diabetes
