Chances are if you're like me you've scrolled through a few dating/relationship subreddits out of curiosity and have been thoroughly horrified by the results. Although I think it's really important to be aware of dysfunctional couples (particularly abusive ones) after a while it can become really depressing to read so many horror stories.

I know that having high standards is really important, essential actually, and that if a man really cares about you his actions will demonstrate that, but I find the sheer multitude of these stories really discouraging (especially since there's a common narrative that women's standards are too high).

To counter act this, I was hoping to hear some positive stories from women who kept their standards high and are now in relationships where their spouse/fiancé/boyfriend meets and exceeds these expectations.

To be clear: this isn't a "not all men" post, but a request for women to share their positive relationships and demonstrate what a healthy and fully committed relationship looks like since Reddit seems to sorrowfully lacking them. I hope this serves as reassurance for anyone who might need it as well as a quick reminder. You do not deserve bad treatment. No one deserves bad treatment.
