The replies were very interesting. There are good points made on either side of the issue, that the man asking for a paternity test will hurt the woman's feelings.

However, I do find it interesting that a woman's feelings are more important than a man dedicating their lives to raising and paying for children that aren't his.

There seems to be a huge concern about how the woman feels about this, and despite multiple repeated examples in the comments of men literally killing themselves out of grief, the general talk seems to just accept that as somehow normal, and focus enormously on the woman's feelings on the matter, men's feelings and worries be damned.

There should be mandatory DNA testing in every hospital. That will put the whole question to rest and give everyone the information they need to make their own decisions. No more keeping men in the dark for the convenience of women and to protect their feelings.

Let's not go brigading that sub, but I was curious to see if we could get a conversation started on here and see what people have to say.
