Let's give it a try and see what happens. If it generates quality discussion, then maybe, but in my experience, it's a magnet for the people who like and generate low-effort content.

I think it depends on the image, tbh. Some images are infographics with good information in them; others are just bad jokes or captures of social media posts from nobodies. I think the latter should be removed, but not the former.

The occasional one is fine, but they tend to rapidly overwhelm the other content especially on a smaller subreddit.

The 5% that are worthwhile conversation starters do not justify the 95% that are low effort or attempts to reinforce existing opinions without critical thought.

If someone really wants to discuss an image then they can link it in the body of a text post explaining why, IMO.

I'm only an occasional visitor (although I like this place more than anywhere else) but I would echo others thoughts.

We've likely seen most MRA memes of both the anti-feminist kind and "this is what make privilege" looks like. While they're easy to up vote and I don't have anything against it, I don't think it adds anything to the sub. There are plenty of other subs where you can get your fill of that content.

If it's truly exceptionally different, the odd one won't hurt but I like the discussion more than a circle jerk.

If you can set a standard for what high quality photos are than fine.

No memes.

No outrage porn.

No screenshots.

Maybe if there was some good marketing you saw and what to share it could be good. But I think any picture still needs to be provided text for discussion. Which disallowing image sumbissions and putting it in a self-post is the easiest way to enforce that.

r/Mramemes already exists. Id prefer not to have more here. With the exception of interesting/controversial screenshots from other subs and tweets.
