Women being drafted is only part of the issue:

Women serve in Ukraine’s armed forces. They make up roughly 7% of military personnel and over 20% of the officer corps. Thousands have served with distinction, and hundreds have been decorated for bravery. Yet women account for only a tiny fraction of military deaths—around 0.2% according to some estimates.

I dread the situation when the officer corps will be gender equal (or majority female ) and almost all casualties will be disposable men.

Adding women to the draft, but keeping them away from the Frontline, would just mean that we now can send 100% of men to the meat grinder, since none is needed for logistics.

It would just make it even unsafer for men while preserving the misandric policy to keep woman away from danger while sacrificing men

Nope. Put women on the frontlines, too. And ensure that all children and grandchildren of any congressperson are also serving combat. Watch how quickly the decisions of people in charge change and how capable of diplomacy they become.

Nope, that's not a solution at all. The problem with Selective Service (and whatever other countries call it) is that this is an issue of bodily autonomy just like abortions rights or genital mutilation of infants (boys in the US and girls in Africa). For someone to give up their body, and possibly their life, to their country is only patriotic if it is a choice, not a requirement.

Ideally it should be done away with along with all conflict, but this is reality. Making it sex neutral is the only realistic option I see, but that won't change how expendable guys are in this world. Maybe someday the entire thing will be optional and volunteer-only, but that's not today.

Generally agree, but that's a small part of it. This is the bigger issue:

because of our country always finding a way to be involved in wars we have no business being in and having so many ops

A small portion of the population basically enslaves the global working population to pay for all kinds of wars of choice (while of course having the same working population fight the wars, build the bombs, etc, without getting the profits, etc, and of course carrying out secrecy rules to prevent the public from knowing what was done in their name with their money). Conscription (literal or destroying the economy so the military becomes the most practicable choice to make a living) is yet another way of taking advantage of working people (and of course heavily charged against men, as written into law).

So the actual solution is to remove profit from war, push the financial and human burden of it back onto the decision-makers, throw people in jail for covering up war crimes (including under secrecy/classification rules), etc. Then we can talk about when and why forced servitude may possibly be required, of whom (presumably everyone. I'm not even sure how you argue otherwise if the US specifically is going to claim to have "equal protection" under the 14th amendment), and then of course who should do what forced tasks (I do think it's reasonable to say that a physically weak person can't take on certain roles.... But that would apply to men and women, so I can't really fathom where sex-based discrimination makes sense.... Maybe certain field combat roles where menstruation can't be managed??? Extremely specific scenarios at best)

So, if someone has a differing opinion than you, they are "clearly not intelligent"? Have you ever been in the military? The problem with women in the military is that they are not made to perform to the same physical standards that men do. If you need to be able to pass Physical Fitness Tests comprised of events that have certain standards that would correspond to being able to survive and succeed in a combat environment, whether it is in a Combat, Combat Support, or Combat Service Support MOS, not making women do in training what would be necessary to survive in the field is a great disservice to them. What does that say about the priorities of the politicians practicing benevolent sexism, and I'm talking both male AND female politicians. Ones who kowtow to feminist groups and DACOWITS that just want to make the chance for career success "equal" when it is anything but.

Why don't we hear anything at all from feminist groups and those who support them about making Selective Service gender neutral? Because when it comes to benevolent sexism women seem to be on the "cafeteria plan".

I knew women in the military that could easily max a male PT test. Many more that exercised regularly could pass one. I also knew men that could not pass, and I knew women that barely made it even with lower standards. It all comes down to training and enforcement of standards, not politics or social discourse.

As an aside, this Hegseth guy certainly has a screw loose. I have never seen a bigger idiot serving as a cabinet secretary, and that's saying a lot given the history of this country.

The answer to selective service is to give women an equivalent role..
I don't think the answer is to force women to be on the front lines..

But women are perfectly capable of working 8 hour shifts in the factories producing clothing, food and ammunition / other supplies to support the men who are fighting..

So then the equal service would be they are required to report for duty and work shifts to help provide supplies for the men fighting for them..

That's one solution..
The other solution which feminists would also not like would be to give men who agree to be drafted special privileges compared to women..
Something like paying a lower amount of tax or something..

Is it the best solution? No, but its still a solution..

The idea is, if they expect men to fight and die for their country then those men need to be compensated for that.
As it currently stands, men have 100% of the responsibility to fight and die for their country with ZERO compensation for it.
