Taking everything she says at face value and not assuming theres even a teeny bit of misandry because theres zero chance a poster on /r/twox is full of hate....

I wonder if the men at her office would be allowed to volunteer to create a network for men to help each other's careers, to discuss issues that dont just hurt men and women but actually help men....sometimes at the cost to women.

Does the women's group give talks on how shitty behavior women have could negatively impact men? I mean come on....can you even fucking imagine?

So one day a year men were given the opportunity to reflect on their health...with the closing message of how so much of their ingrained behavior hurts women...and thats some kind of par for course for the messaging on women's day? The one with how wonderful and thankful everyone is for women and all they do? Are we on the same fucking planet?

I also liked how its men's fault men dont want to volunteer at Big brother's Big Sisters. How dare men not throw themselves into the pedophile witch hunt we at twox specifically (but certainly not exclusively) fuel the flames of every fucking day!?!??!?!?!?! Quite a few men might lose their careers but thats a sacrifice women are willing to make!

But to their larger point? I absolutely agree. Men (and women) care much more about women and women's day than they do men's. And thats why men's day is important. IF nothing else to showcase just how fucking different the levels of people's empathy is for the two genders. If they feel other men dont care as much about men as they do women, well I abso-fucking-lutely agree... which means men's day is all the more needed.

Now that's out of the way...

Women have an in-group bias. Men prefer women over men.

It makes sense that women would be more likely to put on events and socialize.

Also "volunteering" at work means you're getting paid to do that stuff so it's not really brag-worthy.

You know it's very funny, one comment basically sums everything up

The thing i've seen is men crying about the lack of a google doodle. Its such a stupid thing to complain about. Women are fighting for their actual issues and men complain about not getting a dumb drawing.

The worst part is that i knew people would complain about not getting a drawing today since last women's day.

This post illustrate how people do not understand men's issues. The comment reduce male issues to just "Not getting a dumb drawing", illustrating how people do not know the real issues men face, and things we advocate about.

At the same time it is also illustrate how overlooked men's issues are because I mean we can't even get a shoutout to from google, or any mention from government and international organization. The only exception is the UN, which still made it all about women.

I have seen so many posts whining about how “nobody is celebrating” international men’s day.Here’s an idea: how about these men step up themselves and create content to promote it?

Men want women to be doing all the work for IMD

Not really, but we just want it to be acknowleged. We just want to be heard and we just want people to care. Meanwhile, international organizations or national governments can barely pretend to care. As 50% of society, I guess we do expect women to care too, but not more that we expect any man to do so.

IMD is about hating feminism

Our of interest I searched “International Men’s Day” on Reddit and found a ton of posts blaming feminists and saying that we’re making it “too controversial” to celebrate IMD. Idk, maybe if they didn’t make IMD about hating feminists, it wouldn’t be controversial. Crazy thought.

False. I looked "International Men's Day" on reddit and the top 10 post, minus that post which is actually the 5th most upvoted post about IMD, has no mention of feminism. 2 of them came close, but feminism was never named and barely if even implied. If anything, it was more calling out the double standard.

IMD is just men complaining about being oppressed

I've never heard of IMD, sounds like a bunch of MAGA incels invented it because they are always complaining about being punished for being white and male etc.

Also not true. It's about talking about men's issues. It's about getting people to go deeper than tier 1 or 2 here. It's about talking about male victims of sexual assault. It's about talking about victims of suicide. It's about talking about homelessness. It's about talking about male rape victims and how statistics has been manipulated to exclude them. It's about being against misandry. In a way I find these post funny, because these comments and post are why yesterday should exist, because people are unwilling to listen to us. Unwilling to see us as anything more than a bunch of misogynistic incels. Not willing to understand our points or listen to us. Unable to look at men's rights as anything that isn't a reactionary "white rights" "straight pride" movement. And if there's any feminist lurkers here who want proof, see point one, plenty of proof there.

IMD is made by a bunch of misogynist/sexist group of people

It's actually started by Thomas Oaster and established by Dr Jerome Teelucksingh in Trinidad and Tobago. Dr Jerome is a lecturer in Trinidad and Tobago and the date was set to honor his father's birthday. The day was first celebrated in 1992 in the Caribbean's so this isn't some Republican white pride thing.

But well, these facts only matter if people are willing to listen.

I love how she talks about all the volunteers work that women do for international women’s day and shames men for not doing that same work but doesn’t acknowledge that men work longer hours and don’t live as long in retirement as women do. Women have more time to volunteer because of the privileges they have

I am a huge fighter of misogyny as well as misandry and hate when people derail on international womens day with mens issues and know how much that sub finds it annoying too. I’m disappointed now they’re doing what they usually hate on IMD as well as reinforcing the misandry of basically telling people who care about mens issues to ‘man up’. Guess everyone can be a huge hypocrite
