Agreed, but the only problem with that is that you're simply putting a woman in her place so that she pretends to love you, it's still not real as you're just forcing chameleon behavior on them as female nature doesn't change. I'd start with The Simple Path to Wealth. Very good and easy to read book. Follow that up with the Bogleheads Guide to Investing. Both have similar points, just Bogelheads gets into more detail and has a few different ideas on overall allocation.
The advice of both authors pushes Vanguard as the institution of choice, but you can use their method with any investment firm and since the books were written Fidelity often takes the crown for the lowest expense ratios.
