My barber's retired a long time ago.. the next closest place was a Super Cuts full of women, I've been cutting my own hair ever since.

Me too on this... And.. if I invest what I save in hair cuts, I’ll net about $37k in 30 years... sure, not really a lot, but it’s money saved just the same!

Yup, when I got old enough that my parents told me that it's time that I pay for my own haircuts, I was like, "Okay." I went to the barber, and it was like $15 at the time, so I gave him $20. When I left I was like, "Holy shit, 20 fuck'n dollars for a hair cut, and I only had like $30 to my name." So, I went and bought a barber kit with trimmer, scissors, plastic comb attachments for length, etc. all for $8 + tax on sale. Still using it... 1, 2, 3... 23years later. The first time I cut my own hair, I was afraid to make a mistake and it took me 2hours, but pretty soon, it took me 30minuts, and not too long later it took me like 15 minutes or less depending on how long I let it grow before I cut it again.

I shave my head. Grew a nice thick beard. Picture worthy shit. Never knew I could, been shaving for the military since 17. Have guys talking about how they would grow a beard if they could and making excuses about why they can't. My gf won't let me etc. HAHA

Yep. A $60-80 Andis clipper and trimmer set will do the trick. I’ve been cutting my hair for 3.5 years. I cut my hair more than once a month, so that’s at least $20 a month times 12 months= $240 a year.

Boom! Hell yeah! Hair is a nuisance to begin with. I let my hair cut off to mm level. Not yet ready to become a full skin head. But with time passing a skin head is less and less associated with antisemitism. I'm totally not anti antisemitic. So I'm on the verge of shaving myself completely. I hate skull hair: it's choking my skull skin and being bald is a very effective woman repellent. Yes keeping myself completely bald will use up razor blades on a higher pace but the thot disgusting will compensate that loss big time.

Edit; cut your hair a day will keep the women away.

I have a clipper, a trimmer for my beard and recently bought another trimmer for nose/ear/eyebrows.

I do at least 1 time a week my hair. There are times I use the trimmer every day. Other times I can't be fucked for 2/3 weeks.

Same. Mine was already short - #2 on the sides and #4 on top. I use a #3 guard on my beard so I said fuck it and just used it on my head too. Result: no one can tell and now I never need to take the time or money to go to a barber again.

Been cutting my own for 20 years, it's just a buzz cut, but I also cut 2 of my son's hair, the other one won't let me chop his off, probably for the best he has curly hair and I'd just screw it up!

I’ve been doing it for years, even can fade it and don’t pay the barber $15 plus the tip. Invest in some good clippers, not the cheap ones, and have a front and back mirrors.

Been cutting my own hair for about 6 years now. Buzz a #2 on top and #1 on sides. Easy peasy. Cut my son's hair too, I use the clippers on the sides and scissors (finger-length trim) on top. My clippers have paid for themselves a hundred times over now.

Been cutting my own hair for 10 years... If you cut similar hairstyle all the time you'll get good enough in time. Sure it's not perfect but I don't work a customer-facing job or care about impressing anyone.

Idk man. Barbers are pretty chill and often nice to talk with, you help them earn their money, you get to have a very nice relaxing time and prolly some other perks, I really appreciate my barber, but sure, learning to cut your own hair might be a good thing, it's never bad to have a new skill!

Honestly, I don't understand the idea of barbers.. the hair is LITERALLY on your head. It's within reach of your arms.

I legit have a harder time clipping my toenails than cutting my hair.

I spend £10 on a haircut every few months, during this lockdown I had to do it myself and it’s just as good as a barber does. So when I need my haircut I’m buying a £50 razor, and I’ll be saving money within no time.

Been cutting my own hair for 20 years. I'm 35. When I was in highschool I just straight shaved my head. In hindsight, it wasn't the best look, but the unintended consequence was keeping women away from me. So there's that I guess.

Fortunate to have a somewhat rectangular head. Fortunate because it makes blending super easy. Have hair now, fully GMOW, just dropped 20 pounds after starting a divorce, can't wait to get back out there with all my new found freedom and drop some "You're strong and independent, I thought you could buy your own drink this time" type one liners. Gonna be fun man!

And btw supercuts, sports cuts, etc, are all terrible, unless you get the 60 year old lady that cut her husbands hair for years, they are usually pretty cool.

Go the the barber once every 6 months just to get everything evened out and pocket that 60$ a month.
