Much in line with John B Calhoun's Mouse Utopia experiment (wiki/youtube it if you're not familiar).
They took some the "beautiful" ones (you'll find out what that means in this context) out of the experimental setup and placed them in a separate small environment with a single female. They still didn't breed, behavior patterns where permanently changed.
