Now go into your browser settings, and delete the username/password that's saved so if you accidentally go back it doesn't sign you back in. Then delete the shortcut.

Facebook is silly unless you use it to keep in contact with people long distance, then it may have it's uses. So many people just friend request everyone to get a higher friend count and post really dumb stuff. Don't have time for that childish nonsense.

I deleted mine last year. I only had 60 friends I followed wich is pretty low for my age (30) but screw that I’m not going to add my entire high school just to look popular. So silly. One of the best decisions I made. Likes are superficial and useless and 99% of people posting happy birthday on your wall wouldn’t even know your birthday if FB didn’t give them a reminder. Let that sink in.

I haven't deleted as I use a FB private group to organize a yearly snowboard trip I do with some Bro's but I have deleted the FB app from my phone and this has made a huge difference in my life. Now I try to just use my phone... as a phone. If not for that private group I run I would delete FB though...

Serious question, Hope someone can chime in, I'm losing hair over this! How the fuck do you delete it? I thought I closed it years ago, but somehow just recently I'm now getting emails from people I know on Facebook. I tried to go in and delete it permanently but I've forgotten the password I used...and it's no wonder I wasn't using it for years. Now Facebook is requesting me to contact people I know to vouch for my identity so I can delete it. What the fuck? I thought it was deleted years ago.

did it 5 years ago. first 2 weeks are hard. by month 2 you won't even think about it. every year i just laugh because without a doubt it was one of the best things i've ever done in my life. there is an actual sense of joy and happiness that is sucked out by apps like that which hack your social programming and need to compare. science has proven this, people who use FB are on average more sad and depressed.

don't ever go back. you'll go 2 years clean and then one day you'll see a good friend out for coffee and you'll begin to notice all the small ways people are addicted to FB and use it to fill the empty spaces of their life. now when i see that behavior it makes me sick to my stomach. Allegory of the Cave my brother. sometimes you don't realize how trapped you were until you're out of it.

I hope you did a purge of your account: delete photos, videos and unfriend everyone on your list. I did that 3 years ago and no regrets so far.

If someone asks you why did you just deleted them, simply tell you won't use Facebook anymore and you are still reachable via phone, email or Whatsapp/Telegram.

I didn't delete fb but I rarely open it like once a month and share memes. I made another fake account to follow news and memes where i can shitpost and only add other meme friends with similar political and ideological interests.
