Studies show that straight out of the womb after a few hours, a baby boy is "anxious" and looks at everything in the maternity ward - equipment, windows, objects. Other people in the room are nothing special. Baby girls look nearly only at other people.

Right, makes me kinda tempted to build myself something small like this on one of my land holdings and get it decked out with solar and an outhouse. God what a nice simple life that would be. It would be my first time doing any electric work though... but a solar power system with batteries can't be 'that' bad.

Excellent man, I have always find small places like these one very cozy and perfect to live just by myself.
Regards the electric system you want to install I recommend to you to check out what devices you will to feed. I think with even a small panel and batteries you can use a tv and small sized fridge.
Have you ever think about in something like an electromagnetic supply source? Just think about it, virtually you could have infinite energy forever, I say virtually because magnets also get damage or simply lose effectiveness. However both are great projects to implement into a house.

Like I said I'v never done any kind of electric work in my life beyond back in the vo-tech days where I built some basic circuits with switches and motors as a teenager. What you said gives some starting points for research so thanks, I appreciate it.
And I probably wouldn't have much that would need electricity. Probably just a laptop, fridge, portable AC unit, and a night time light source. I wouldn't mind an out door kitchen, get a pimped out fire pit and invest in some dutch ovens, a spit, and get a nice griddle. That does bring up the issue of water, but it's actually trivial to set up a handful of solar stills and rain catchers... and their maintenance is also trivial.
If I put up an outhouse equipped with peat moss, and also cultivate more moss on nearby trees and rocks, I wouldn't have to worry much about my own waste. I could even use it as compost and start a garden as it collects.
Fuck dude, I'm starting to get full off the grid ideas. The electric stuff is still gonna take some learning but we can learn anything, and like I said, you gave me a few starting points. I'll look into electromagnetic and see what possibilities that can open up.

A few things to consider - if you are running on solar there is plenty of RV stuff out there that runs on either 12V or 24V. It's more efficient to run on DC power directly. You can get a lot of stuff designed to run on 12V or 12V power adapters for things. If you run an inverter you are turning DC into AC for the power adapter for the device probably to turn it back into DC again and you get a lot of losses in heat in that process.
I have a 12V solar system in my shed for back up uses and I do have an inverter but my lights are 12V DC LED's and I have a bunch of car charger adapters for a lot of my devices. I have a 12V adapter to charge my laptop. I would only use the inverter if I want to use one of my monitors or the microwave or something.
Also keep in mind 12V systems are designed for things like cars and vans. You want to keep your cable runs for it relatively short otherwise you will run into voltage drops in the wires and it won't be very efficient or work very well. My panels are on the roof of my shed and my fuse box, charge controller and inverter are all in the corner under where the supply from the panels and the battery's are in a box just outside. The longest runs are my LED lights and a few 12V car sockets.
I have 240V AC mains in my shed - so I have a 12V power supply I just plug my lights into when not running on my solar. In England we have terrible weather so I use it in the summer to save a bit of money or during power cuts and it runs a few things like my router, a rasberry pi which irrigates my garden and the pump for my irrigation system - my landlord actually didn't pay his electric bill 2 summers ago and I had to make do with it and my generator for 9 weeks.
Remember to size your wires correctly - with 12V systems some things with draw large currents to make up for the low voltage.
The most useful learning resource would probably be van lifers or off grid homesteading people who have these sorts of systems.

There's almost always a little cold water pipe next to the toilet — how else do you get the water in your toilet — so, that's really the best option. Simply turn it off, unscrew the old thing, screw-in the T adapter for the bidet, and screw back the toilet thing. You're basically done; I imagine it may also require electric power to operate the buttons and the deployment mechanism.
I've used them in Japan at my hotel — it's all standard there in every hotel — it was pretty cool!
Admitingly, never gotten to buying and installing one for my apartment — too much choice, and I've heard many are designed for 100V instead of 120V, so they may not work properly in the US. Plus, the hassle of taking care of it when moving.
I'm definitely keen on the idea after hearing all this.

I live in a shed.
I go outside. I piss on my compost pile or in a 5L screenwash bottle if I don't want to go outside. I built a small outhouse with a composting toilet for solids. I have a shitty little tent like thing and an outlet from my instant hotwater heater with a thermostatic mixing valve and I just screw on a shower hose and head to that if I want a shower. It's a little brutal in winter so I generally shower at work, my parents or an old workplace where a friend of mine works lates.
Shitting or showering in such a small space is unhygienic and creates moisture problems.
Elevated bed is indeed the way to go. As long as you can crawl in there you're fine.

The shed I live in is next to an industrial unit - it was original put here to store some equipment and some forklift batteries. It's quite well built. I insulated and boarded it out and it actually was wired up for electricity (4mm armoured cable) because they had some battery chargers in here from a distribution board - I put in 2 socket ring mains on 32A MCB's and a lighting ring main which runs some outside lights - I have a propane instant hot water heater so I can have hot water for my sink and my outdoor shower - I actually have a mains water supply - there was an outdoor tap on my shed because they used to jet wash vehicles and equipment on this side of the yard. The warehouse actually has BT broadband for some off site back up servers and some CCTV and alarms. People used to work in there but now its just storage full of machines. I just ran a CAT5E cable from the router in the office about 30ft out to my shed buried and connected it to a network switch so I have wired internet in there. I can use my phone as a hotspot - I can actually see a mast from here so I get decent 4G - I get 50GB of data a month from Vodafone so if I didn't have access to wired internet I would probably just go to my parents house or a friends workplace to download large torrents or game updates but I would be OK for general stuff.
I also have a small DC electrical system with some solar and some old forklift batteries they left here which were no use for forklifts anymore. It runs my 12V LED lights, some 12V car sockets and my network switch and I do have an inverter - I also had a portable system with a car battery rigged up to run the router in the server room. In 2019 my landlord didn't pay his electrical bill due to some snaffu and they disconnected the mains here so I had to make do with my solar and my generator for about 9 weeks. The system also irrigates my vegetable garden and powers my little raspberry pi server. In winter I generally have to plug it into mains power but if I had to and did some upgrades I could manage without mains power here.

Yeah I didn't go into too many details but I can tell the above building isn't set up to have a bathroom & shower in it.
I would simply add onto the end of the structure because of winters as you said. Just a proper bathroom & water heater.
I'm a fan of cement septic tanks because you can burn them out if they get full and you can't get the truck out to service it.

I have actually seen hot tubs designed in this manner - I wondered about making one that was larger - I think I would insulate the outside with at least 40mm of styrofoam. In my climate I think I would have to design some sort of solar heating system as summers in England are not tropical. I had the idea of using a system with black pipes insulated by glass milk bottles and a circulating pump and heat exchanger that would float on the surface under an insulating layer and probably using ethylene glycol as the heat transfer medium to keep it reasonably warm.
Yeah - I must say I actually quite like swimming and bathing in salt water. Nothing better than a swim or a surf in the Atlantic ocean. I also find the salt water helps my skin and my feet which tend to suffer a bit.
