I was bullied everyday in school from grades 1 to 6, beat up constantly, picked on, had sand thrown in my eyes, had toys and items stolen from me. The school did nothing.
If I retaliated, I got sent to the principles office, had recesses taken away, had privileges like microwave use taken away, ect.
Did home schooling in grade 7, started failing, went back to public school at the end of grade 7, 8 ,9 10. Same thing. In grade 8 I started lifting weights but nothing serious. Didnt do anything.
Grade 11 I did home schooling and grade 12 as well.
In 11 I started lifting weights. No one messes with me now.
My dad was always on the side of, beat the shit out if the kid or kids and he would deal with it and fight the school for me, as long as I didn't start it.
My mom was always, don't fight, it's bad.
I'm hindsight, I should have fought. I wish I did now.

Okay, funny story on some petty revenge along those lines. I'm an occultist, more academic than practical, but I do rituals every so often as it helps to stay in touch with my gods.
A person who purchased our old house (bank stole it, long story, but typical) kept trespassing and then lied to the police who is his buddy. (My father knows the chief of multiple counties and townships. He got int trouble for this bullshit, just want to clarify this), who tried to shame and intimidate us into allowing us to continue to trespass to do work on his house. Two things, first he has no permit so he is doing work illegally, second, the lot is so small you have to walk on our property to do work.
Now the setup is out of the way we can get onto the juicy bits of the story. Most people don't know how the occult works. It's a rather methodical science when you break it down and take it seriously, but there is a lot of superstition around it. I capitalized on that stigma and decided to do a large scale ritual in my concrete driveway. I've wanted to do so before, but keeping the peace with my neighbors always seemed more important.
Owe they became nervous very quickly. His girlfriend was in positive freakout mode and a third woman wouldn't come near our property boundary. He was such a gutless coward he sent his girlfriend over to try and make amends with my dad who was putting up an electric fence which we still need to electrify.
She tried claiming she knew the sheriff who my father knew from being a volunteer firefighter. They nervously looked around to themselves as I went about my business in full ritual robes. I dropped a few loud questions regarding if they were all together, loud enough that they could hear which made them more nervous, but that was before I got started.
When I complete the ritual which involved planting blessed potato chunks at the four corners of my two-acre property, they were gone. It was an advanced property protection ritual, but I never told that to anyone other than my family.
We haven't seen them back since and they're either renting or have sold the house. Yes, I could have cursed them, but curses take time to prepare, and can very easily decide to return to the sender. Bartering with entities is costly, so I just put the fear of God into them instead. :)

Potentially, but it could equally be that I scared them, them finding out my father knew the chief better than them intimidated them, and the fact they had sunk more money into the property than it is worse caused them to say enough was enough.
They made his father, who owns a mobile home park, to come over and finish their work as well. These people were losers who came from money. Not a lot of money, but the amount that you have no class when you come from it.
Then again maybe it did work. I didn't put any controls in place to test it so I cannot say for certainty. Serious occultists don't just attribute everything to their working. That is a good way to have an overinflated ego and then get screwed when you learn that most of what you thought was you was a coincidence.

The implication was he planted a weapon on him, but the police would have shot that story down pretty quickly with the lack of finger prints, tracing the weapon to the house/aggressor, and checking the story with neighbors and history of the victim.
You'd be amazed how many stories you can debunk just by knowing standard police procedure. Most writers don't know them so they write movie smart plots, but standard procedure would end their plot pretty quick. The only real criminals that get away are not the ones that pull the wool over everyone's eyes as a mastermind. They are the one's that either bribe or are never ever caught or thought of as suspects.
For instance, there was a guy that confessed to his friend he killed his soon-to-be ex, but because of how it went down he was never a suspect and no one believes he did it. How? Something like 80% of catching a criminal is don't be seen going or leaving the location and it becomes exceedingly difficult to pin it on you without evidence left at the scene.
My mother liked watching true crime stories, so yeah I have a lot of useless trivia about the topic.

The story is long, but the TLDR is the guy was estranged from his soon to be ex wife for some time and living a considerable distance away from her. He tossed the gun into the river and because the police nor her family had any reason to suspect him as he appeared the saint in all of it, they never looked at him hard. They asked him questions, but he never aroused their suspicion.
I think he may have taken a few things too and tossed them as well. But honestly I just use the story as an example, I can't vouch whether that particular one is real or not, but I can tell you that's how serial killers get away with it as long as they do.
Like honestly if you want to be a serial killer just go to the next state over and kill someone. Most of the time by the time cops realize it wasn't someone local no one remembers you were there unless you were acting strange enough to be remembered.
It's a sad weakness in our legal system.
