I was stupid enough to let myself start a conversation with some friends(mixed) about the tour de france incident that happened a few days ago. I stated that she will probably not get in serious trouble just because she is a woman. As you can imagine, all shit breaks loose and I got hit with "Why do you hate women so much?" and "Who hurt you?". I just responded that because that is the current state of the world we are in. Because women get reduced sentence or no repercussions at all for the same type of offense. I gave an example for rape and how when a man rapes a woman its all over the news and guy gets decade behind bars(and that's perfectly fine) but on the other hand when a woman rapes a guy no one bats an eye, barely any media covers the story and a sentence is usually non existent. And few of them just laughed and I told them "See, exactly that is the problem, you don't view it as the same offense". And then I just made a mental note to just silently go my own way and watch the world burn

Tldr: Don't be me, don't engage or start a conversation that touches their "we are perfect and we should get everything that we want" worldview. If you do, you'll just lose your time, patience and a few braincells...and you won't accomplish anything
