Divorced guy here. My problem with marriage when I tied the knot was lack of knowledge and frankly societal pressure as my peers were all settling down. It is a bad deal frankly for anyone that has more to lose (more likely the man) as there isn't incentive to keep the relationship together.

I think that a lot of the time women think that we work a lot because we love working more than we love them (rather than the other way around). So when they divorce us their thinking “go be with the bitch you really want to be with, your job”. But what we really want is to build a strong future.

That being said. As men I also think we have a habit of investing too heavily on the future and missing out on our family right now. You do that long enough, and that’s all your seen as. I struggle with this myself. I know guys that try to do both. They never sleep. Their is a balance out there, I just haven’t found it yet.
