I also really doubt he's going to get away with any of this. There's something called the "putative spouse doctrine" that basically grants the "deceived" spouse all of the rights they would have had if the marriage was valid.

Unfortunately, in the States the marriage certificate you sign is for the government license, not the ecclesiastical. So despite the status of the priest, the marriage was probably legal in whatever state they're in. And if they're in California, he's fucked.

Women don't need paternity tests. Children belong to them upon birth.
Common law marriage is upheld even in states without common law marriage laws especially if there was a ceremony and there were witnesses. SUBSTANCE OVER FORM will usually be upheld.
