Many great empires have ended while baring similar characteristics as we see currently. With peak prosperity comes flagrant government spending, expensive wars, cultural admiration of rebellion, hedonism, promiscuity, the breakdown of the family unit, and crime and poverty increases. Thats when an outside invader usually has the most success sacking the capital. (Keep in mind, regardless what the media says, murder was 3x higher in the 70s -80s. Also, america’s “poor” are wealthier in lifestyle than 85% of the planet, and 99% of human history.)

So This collapse may be different. North America and the US in particular is still very financially successful, albeit in debt. Its military is pretty powerful. Shale oil discovery ensures we’ll be a super power for another 100 years. Our debts may never need to be paid if our GDP and petroleum remain at the current levels. They might just be leveraged into foreign trade deals. Point being, if the US remains economically powerful, it could prevent literal invasion from militaries, sure, but that doesnt mean our culture and society will be a peaceful, positive one, inside this big machine. 45% of kids are now raised in single parent homes. How do those mothers pay for their kids? Mostly Welfare, Our taxes. So the government is replacing the family. This gives the state MASSIVE leverage over our culture. A man raised in a single parent home is 20x more likely to be a criminal. So imagine the crime rate when 90% of men are raised like that. Im a firm believer that welfare incentivizes the lowest IQ women to have lots of children with the lowest IQ men. Intelligence is vastly powerful in the modern world, especially with technology and automation. Add in some natural selection. We could see an enormous disparity in financial success between the intelligent and the less intelligent. Once the scale tips, the low IQ will probably revolt. Thats when we’ll probably see men sterilized or even drugged during thei “hormonal” or “aggressive “ years. By then technology might be efficient enough to take full control, and we’ll have a society of people who dont want to go outside, or perhaps are forbidden to like 1984.

Or perhaps a few states break off from the union and the US becomes a few smaller, less powerful countries. Rome, Spain, England, and even Portugal all ruled the world at one point. Now theyre tiny. I personally wouldnt mind that. I dont imagine a civil war would break out. Every state has a liberal inner city and a conservative rural area. The military would side with conservatives and the liberals wouldnt even have a plastic straw to defend themselves.

The fever pitch outrage we’re experiencing is mostly non-factual. We’re wealthier than ever, and murders and crime were higher 36 years ago. Its all the mainstream media. We need to see the newsstations crumble, be replaced by independent influencers and reporters, and the hysteria will probably subside, along with copycat shooters and extremists.

It's not possible for Trump to win, at least legitimately. The entire spectacle is a put-on. The GOP has lost almost 3 million registered republicans since Trump took office. He won on the biggest fluke in our electoral history, by 75k votes in 3 rustbelt states.

So when they say his support is unwavering, it's a flat-out lie. They no longer count the millions of republicans who have left the party when they say republican support is unwavering.

And how do these outlets maximize revenue? By getting as many eyeballs/clicks as possible.

And how do they do that? By getting their audience emotionally engaged.

And how do they do that? By presenting 'stories' that foster the most raw emotions - politics, violence, crime, celebrity nonsense, etc.

The fact is that the world has never been more stable. You just know about every negative 'story' all the time, so it feels like the shit is hitting the fan

Yes, our civilization is in decline. Everything happens in cycles. Now its the time of decay.

Oswald Spengler pointed this already out in 1918 and I would recommend to read his books or at least articles about his theory.

It can't be fixed. You just need to make the best out of it and use it somehow to your advantage. Although that is easier said than done.

It seems almost every generation thinks this is the end of days. Massive civil war? We did that. Then the war to end all wars (it didn't). Then the isms - communism, fascism. Vietnam. Yet here we still are.

What can you do? Don't get overexcited. Work on yourself (MGTOW's a great start!). Don't hate. Keep learning. Conserve resources, yours and the planet's. Always ask "why".

Start by making a difference the one place you absolutely can -> yourself. Work outwards from there.

I think it is falling apart, but what is falling apart exactly? A culture that makes men disposable? A place where the most "meaning" your life will ever have is likely bringing more children into this world to suffer the same fate?

How could we expect a culture where the way to get ahead and access more resources is to be oppressed to succeed? A society where the path to advancement means being a victim so you can blame someone else isn't a society that will stand very long.

But that's OK, we're MGTOW, we go our own way.

It means little.

I have always heard these apocalyptic talks for ages, and it means nothing. For.e.g, people have been predicting China's collapse since the last big recession every year. So if tomorrow it indeed happened, those people will scream "I told you so", without realizing that a broken clock can be right twice a day but it doesn't mean the clock got it right. Nobody can predict a collapse accurately.

If you travel around the world, each countries' citizen will tell you that their country is going to shit and will collapse. But so far we are good.

It doesn't mean you should never prepare. Go some backup plans where you can migrate to other countries and your money stay somewhere safe. But you will need to do this even if your country is doing well. It has nothing to do with collapse.

In a philosophical context, was it that great to begin with? Did it scale and was it wholesome?

I don't think this current model is truly sustainable and shouldn't be fixed or kept on life support.

Something has to change.

Now I don't think this is all doom and gloom, and I also don't think that we can expect any radical change over in our lifetimes.

What you can expect, and what has already happened is some slow awakening. This will translate into seemingly minor tweaks of the current system but with substantial impact.

The real question is do you have the patience to sit and wait around for it? I certainly don't, and hence MGTOW.

If there was one change I would like to see, it would be that our countries be run by good and intelligent people. Perhaps the same people who are for example Cosmologists. Rather than career politicians and corporate sharks.

Focus primary on yourself and your own goals.
Fixing ones self is always the hardest part. There's numerous ideas that COULD fix things but unfortunately The Collectivists prey on our longing to belong (Religion, Politics, wasting time on pussy etc blah) and those selling tactics are a far easier route for the masses than the vast majority of MGTOW who are Individualist could but in to.
I doubt it'll be more than a slow collapse, try to chuckle at those you deem funny who are on your wavelength and try to enjoy this slow devolution as a bystander.
No I don't think it's the end whatsoever, but the cancer has been diagnosed. I'm kinda done thinking my voice counts for much in the court of public opinion. Just enjoy your freedom and work on your own endeavours outside of paying the bills bud. It's gets a lot easier as time goes by.
I'm also a big TFM fan but there's points we're all able to differ on and this should be celebrated amongst MGTOW.
I'd take all the Civil War shpeel with a pinch of salt personally. And whilst the globe might be in decline this has very little to do with your own journey towards self-actualisation. A lot of us have been (I think) overly worried about the chaos unfolding; as dictated by how transparent the Mainstream Media narratives could have us believe. But even in the chaos and declines many can thrive and I think MGTOW is a far safer bet than those buying into the likes of marriage, kids, desperately Beta-orbiting, etc blah. Try to look inward rather than to the outside.

Well, if TFM is to be believed, the solution is to just take women's rights away and that will somehow magically fix everything instantly. He, of course, has no rational plan for exactly how to do this beyond "well, it works for Muslims in Europe" but is apparently in no hurry to prove his theories by setting up his own 'take women's rights away no-go-zone'. But hashtagjustgetadoll.
