What do you think would happen if men stopped doing things for women (in hopes of sex/relationship/approval) completely? Could they take care of themselves? Behind most strong independent women, are men who pay the bills.

Because it threatens their worldview, the way they've shaped their lives, their identity and self-esteem.
Because the things we say trigger their defensiveness and insecurities.
Because it's easier to shame and attack someone than to actually deal with their arguments.
Because most people are clueless about what is really going on in dating, in marriage, or in family courts.
Because some men in the MGTOW sphere say stupid shit.
Because if you're feeling insecure, you can boost your pseudo self-esteem by attacking someone else.

Other reasons, too, but those are the ones that occur to me.

Let’s not pretend this community is blameless. There’s plenty of hate from guys who have been burned by women. It’s not fair to judge everyone by the worst members, but it’s not fair to pretend they don’t exist either.

I often ask myself the same question. If our main goal is to detach from relationships with women it would make sense that women would be glad to know that we are self-selecting ourselves out of the dating pool. I tend to lean towards the idea that they take offense towards being called out and held accountable for their bad behavior. Like “How dare you question womens’ integrity!!? Haven’t you heard that we’re made of sugar and spice & everything nice?”

I’m sure being hurt by women is why some/many men end up MGTOW. Even if you’re married and never really been hurt, a man still needs a lot of the MGTOW attitude to keep her in line and have a healthy relationship. A feminist would hate this because the wife does not have power over her husband and cannot control him. That the wife is happy would frustrate and enrage the feminist even more because it contradicts her world view that this is oppression.

For the women who spend their 20s trying to get Chad to commit, even though the chances of succeeding are 0, I imagine a MGTOW Chad who doesn’t pursue women at all would just get them more interested and then frustrated that all her indications of interest get ignored.

The non creative gender will have to find something new for their entertainment if men limit their interactions with them. Less resources to grab from and less emotinal tempons/sanitary pads for them are two big reasons also. The biggest reason is that the victimhood which they are selling will be of no value if the so called perpetrators (men ) don't even want to look at women let alone touching them. It's acceptable for women to have their boundaries enforced on men but now men are setting their boundaries for the first time in history and women can't handle their own medicine being used aginst them lol.

Hate is an emotional response, MGTOW is a logic based decision… There are many reasons but one of the biggest is they personally will lose something if many men go MGTOW. For instance women could bang tons of average to chad men until 30s in the past and then secure a beta bucks. Mgtow will limit those choices = women mad or fathers with slore daughters mad etc etc

Men are not allowed to show any emotion. The response to 'MGTOW' is a representation of that. Society frowns on it. It is hated because it shows the vulnerability of a man. How he expresses it is irrelevant.

The ones who express it with anger or frustration are easy pickings for the mob mentality to use their expression to identify and label the rest of the movement.

In reality, a man who is truly going his own way already knows this and is uneffected by it. Keep working on your excellence. The rest doesnt matter.

Literally just read the responses here and see how Many of them are fueled by hatred of women. These aren't people going there own way they just want people to hurt like them. Overall men going there own way is great but honestly it could just be people going there own way, a place to find new hobbies how to improve yourself and accepting who you are and how to be happy without a partner. It's something everyone should spend time doing before they really look for a partner, men, women, or non binary. MGTOW just makes it a creepy cult of men who can't get over being hurt and obsessing about it. It's unhealthy same as any women who swears off dating after being hurt
