Can anyone elaborate on why no using smileys / emoticons and haha or lols?

I'm also wondering on the dressing better issue. I easily took up lifting (ubiquitous advice and I do see it as self-improvement) and am enjoying it.

I'm still a bit resistant to caring about my clothes more. Personality trait perhaps?
