My wife is a SAHM, which I allowed because I actually thought it would make her happy. As I am sure you all can guess- It did not. Recently I sat her down and told her to curb her spending on extras. If it is shit we need then obviously get it, but she has been going overboard. We do have some money to spend. I actually printed out the credit card statements so she could see the numbers. I think she finally got it.

Last night she brings up having some girls go to our pool as part of a day long bachelorette party. I told her that is fine as long as they don't charge the drinks to me, which I felt was reasonable. She really only knows the bride so these girls are mostly strangers to her as well.

I am heading to a bachelor party next month with my buddies, so this was a perfect time for her to pull that card. "This is a lot cheaper than the $1,000 you are spending on your trip." I basically replied "that was not what I meant when I said that we need to curb our spending and you know it." This was met with a big sigh and a shaking head. I went upstairs and got a shower. Got the silent treatment all night which I was fine with. I was happy and playing with the kids. She never really came around. Did I play this wrong? Old me would ave justified all my hours at work and went in that direction. I know that logic doesn't really apply in arguments but holy shit everything just seems so obvious to me if one just thinks about it with reason for a second.
