By far the most enraging comment:

It's as though this woman (an I would assume many women just like her) think that because she has given birth her children are now her dolls, and she can do with them as she pleases. Parents do not own their children. They are guardians and stewards, who are required to make the best decisions possible for their children. Getting some lame cosmetic surgery for them when they are born for no rational reason is not considered a responsible decision.

I'm against circumcision, but also against this bill. Ideally I agree it should be outlawed, but it will push the practice underground, which is dangerous. I'd rather see a public awareness campaign such as the ones that have been successful in the UK at reducing drunk driving.

I am amused that only women are commenting. I'm a guy, if I have a son, I am making the decision to NOT circumcise him. I was circumcised.

Edit:Yahoo! shine?! I had never heard of it until now. It's probably best to leave that stuff off of /r/MR. IMO, you're basically trolling.

I'm surprised that the business aspect of the procedure has not yet made it into this circumcision debate. Sources say that 80% of American males are currently circumcised (as compared to 30% worldwide). While a portion of circumcisions are performed outside the hospital setting, for example by mohels who perform the ritual for some people of Jewish faith, couldn't a ban on a procedure as widespread as this one have a significant impact on the business of birth?

Wow. Priorities much? So boys need to keep getting cosmetic surgery so hospitals won't lose any potential profits. Great argument.
