"A mum who had sex with her 15-year-old son because he seduced her has avoided jail." "HE seduced HER"- so now a CHILD is to blame for his FIFTY year old mother raping HIM?? Because he is male? Can you BELIEVE the double standards boys & males now face??!!

For the record... the woman making the accusation about the phone call... is assuming, she doesn't know for sure.

[–]McGauth925 13 points14 points15 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What? Pass up a chance on all that attention with a celebrity? And, maybe, a big payday down the road, when her sisters decide she deserves it? And, given the current climate, she also gets to feel like she's fighting the good fight to change the world.

[–]Rethgil[S] 27 points28 points29 points 8 years ago* (15 children) | Copy Link

Quotes:

When she realised he was masturbating "the call went on for several MINUTES. (Because) she 'didn't know' HOW TO END THE CALL"

Separate claimant: "He asked if he could masturbate in front of her. She declined." Nothing more happened.

Other allegation: “He asked if we could go to my dressing room so he could masturbate in front of me... ...She declined... He told me he "had issues". NOTHING more happened.

Most ridiculous of all?; During Ms. Goodman and Ms. Wolov’s 'visit' to Louis C.K.’s Aspen HOTEL room, they said they were... ...laughing 'in shock', as Louis C.K. masturbated in a chair (after they'd already said YES when he had ASKED them if he could do so in front of them) “We were PARALYZED", they claim....

Riiiiight..... Too paralyzed to move one foot then the other, and turn a door handle to leave. Too paralyzed to say 'actually could you stop that'. Too paralyzed not to laugh? To not have said yes in the first place? Too paralyzed to detail it all in a news article carefully timed to be released literally HOURS before the premiere of Louis CK new movie in cinemas??

So. Louis is a weird guy. Another comedian with issues. At least he didn't shove rocks up his infant sisters vagina like female comedienne Lena Dunham admits to doing.

So. Ok, Louis has a strange sexual urge. One which, these claims PROVE, he can take people saying NO to when he openly asked them and they declined. He walked away. He apologized.

So again-why the witch hunt tone? Why the use of words like "traumatised" and the claims that women are suddenly delicate snowflakes and 'unable' to use their feet to walk out a door, or to even simply end a phone call? Why the cynical timing to coincide with a film premiere?

Everyone has sexual urges. Many have weird fantasies. Stop pretending this alone is a crime. Even if we trust every detail of every single allegation, still no laws were broken. Permission was always sought. Wishes were respected when told no. Nobody touched anybody. No threats of any sort were even suggested.

The reason people are so up in arms is detailed in a later paragraph in the same story..."Louis CK... ... is sometimes viewed as a FEMINIST". Along with the money to be made, the free publicity and the pitchfork open season on men, THIS sounds a lot like a bunch of surprised feminists out to hunt someone down for not being exactly how they expect men to be.

Stop the witch hunt.

[–]mwobuddy 22 points23 points24 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You notice louis CK is asking for permission, like feminists say men should, and that's still not enough. He's still predatory and sexually harassing for doing what they claim he's supposed to do; ask first.

[–]SpiritofJames 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's very simple. It's a sin to be a man and to express your sexuality in any form that isn't directly in service to a woman.

[–]Rethgil[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. Women can have adverts for sex toys on TV and in stores and its all fine. Men have urges? Perverts! Male sex toys? Disgusting! Men making a move? Rapists! Men expecting women to make a move? Losers!

Women are the ones who need to change. They have become highly hypocritical and puritanical about male needs while promoting female ones of any kind. Women can dress how they want, reveal what they want, say what they want, do what they want.

Men can't say anything, must dress as expected, can't have desires, can't express them and must 'man up'. We KNOW the main cause of suicide is when people feel they are not allowed to express their feelings or views adequately and fear being shamed or punished if they do so. This is just feeding the suicide problem for the future.

[–]ash_park 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

These women are more predatory than Louis CK.

Where do you see that Goodman and Wolov said yes? Laughing it off doesn't imply yes to me

[–]bufedad 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

They started they said yes, but thought he was joking

[–]iamcrazyjoe 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I haven't read that anywhere, just that they "laughed it off", do you have a source?

[–]Rethgil[S] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Again, they stated in the article they laughed during it then chatted with him after. No offense but for all the posts you put wouldn't it be quicker to read the linked article?

[–]iamcrazyjoe 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I know what the fucking article says and I am not saying they didn't "imply" consent. It doesn't say they said yes, which in matters like this is an important distinction

[–]bufedad 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm going to be honest, I read it in one of the articles posted about it on this sub, but I don't really remember which one.

[–]iamcrazyjoe 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't disbelieve it, and wouldn't be surprised to see most mainstream articles leave it out

[–]SpikedGIraffe 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They were not being restrained, them staying and watching is implied consent.

I have had a guy ask if he could Masturbate in front of me before and I thought he was joking. I laugh at first, but when he pulled himself out it quickly registered that he wasn't joking.

As a normal reasonable adult I ended it right there. He did not stop, so I left the situation.

I have also been offered to watch women masturbate...which I did consent to.

[–]Rethgil[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even the statement he has now said, states clearly two things:

One. He ASKED PERMISSION in EVERY case.

Two: One each occasion he thought he HAD permission.

Makes me laugh how the feminists first loved him.

Then damned him when they heard the claims and didn't believe anything he said.

Now they hold up PART of his newest statement as though it proves their views!

Even though it states he asked permission, and only went ahead thinking he had it!

[–]Rethgil[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Its in the article. Did you not read it?

[–]iamcrazyjoe 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I did read it. It doesn't sat they said yes anywhere

"Hello, strange woman. Can i cum on your shoes?"

Don't seem too polite to me.

That said, even if true, these are not exactly the most serious of allegations but he's still going to get crucified. Amy Schumer, on the other hand, actually brags about sexually assaulting a dude but suffers no consequences.

[–]mwobuddy 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"Hello, strange woman. Can i cum on your shoes?" Don't seem too polite to me.

That's a polite way of asking? Does something become more polite to ask if you know her longer? Is it more polite if she's a prostitute you just met and you're offering her money?

[–]BullsLawDan 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"Hello, strange woman. Can i cum on your shoes?" Don't seem too polite to me.

That's a polite way of asking? Does something become more polite to ask if you know her longer?

Uh, yeah, it absolutely does. If I am in a long term relationship with someone and I say something like that, it's vastly different than saying it to someone you just met.

[–]joedevice 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's incredibly forward and very specific. But is no different from asking if you can kiss someone or being in a bar with someone you met 5 minutes ago and saying "do you wanna go back to mine and bang?"

[–]LabTech41 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The only people that I consider to have anything akin to bravery or integrity in these situations is the FIRST person to come forward. When reputation, career, even safety are not guaranteed, THAT'S when I'll give you some credit; of course this assumes that even the first allegation is legitimate.

YEARS ago, Courtney Love admitted on camera that Weinstein was a sexual predator, did she get any respect or admiration for it? No, her career took a nosedive, and is there really any question why? It's basically the only thing about her I respect.

After the first, it's basically guaranteed that all the ones that come after aren't doing it for the advancement of justice, or to support the only brave one to come forward, it's for attention and personal advancement. They did it when it was safe, and they never would've done it otherwise, because I'm guessing a fair number of them chose to put themselves in that position because their careers came ahead of their pride.

Yet still, never let the right thing stop greedy women from making it bad. Now that the blood is in the water, any woman who thinks she can make a buck accusing a man in a he said/she said situation is going to come out of the woodwork; meanwhile if a man comes forward, no matter how influential he is, his claims of abuse by women's hands are going to get laughed off.

[–]Rethgil[S] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Tbh Courtney always had a rep as crazy so its not surprising she wasn't taken seriously. Also, while I agree with your point about the first person taking the risk, I think when the person doing it is unbalanced, its not necessarily brave, its just their personal unbalanced point of view means its not such a risk to them.

Frankly Courtney herself could be accused of the same things as Harvey. In a major article years back in the well respected and known British music magazine called 'Q', they reported how in a crazy interview she demanded the male interviewer wax her asshole for her, and proceeded to strip naked in a taxi in a London street and bare all to him. Then staggered naked into the street. I'm not making a judgement on the stuff she went through regarding Kurt or the theories about her part in it all, or his suicide. But again, it's a classic example of the double standard of female versus male behavior and the media reporting of it today.

Let's also remember she was even involved with Sid Vicious before his suicide and murder incident.

Personally I love her second album, though I'm not sure how much she wrote of it, and obviously' 'Doll Parts' is a great song, though again there's rumours that Kurt may have had a hand in it.

Sorry if my post isn't clear. My point is just how muddy all this stuff is, and that it should be accepted and treated as such. I'm just sick of men being treated in such a black or white way and the trial by media whilst the same people are ignoring the reality of female standards and behavior. We're all a little messed up. But only the men are being persecuted for it. The women are getting put on pedestals no matter what they do.

[–]LabTech41 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh, no doubt: Courtney Love isn't exactly the personality type that would scream 'reliable witness', but that moment on the red carpet where she made her statement WAS one of the more lucid moments she has.

My point in bringing it up is that it's easy to come forward with an allegation when everything's been prepped to make it easy and safe, to be the first when everything's at stake takes courage; and like I said that all assumes the allegations are true. This Louie CK thing strikes me as an exploitation of a witch hunt trend that the #MeToo thing has set in motion; and like any witch hunt a few will be guilty, but a whole lot more will be misunderstood and misinterpreted innocents.

[–]Rethgil[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah you're probably right. My own issue has always been the lack of balance given the fact that only a few are ever likely to be accurate, and that the notion of equality is a laughing stock in the face of feminists screaming for blood and the media hysteria and trial by social media.

[–]rocelot7 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Here's the weird thing about excusing people who become a "deer in the headlights" where they're unable to react to what is happening to them. Its weird because in a literal case of deer in the headlights they'd be the one running over the deer.

[–]Rethgil[S] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Made me think of a Louis ck quote actually.

When Ricky Gervais interviewed him (along with Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld) and asked him what the funniest thing he'd ever seen was, he said it was when he walked into a comedy club one night to see someone doing a serious earnest cover of "Sitting on the dock of the bay" with an acoustic guitar.

When it got to the chorus, the guy sang: "Sitting on a cock 'cos im gay".

Ricky Gervais laughed and said he couldn't believe that was the funniest thing he'd seen. Meamwhile, Chris Rock, who had been listening intently to all this, then interrupted to ask, with deadly seriousness; "Did he do the whistle?"

Gervais, Louis and Seinfeld then all lost it in hysterics.

Gotta love Rock....

introduce sexuality to a relationship so aggressively.

"Aggressively" is a deliberately vague and subjective term designed to prey on emotional peoples feelings and fear.

Women "aggressively" proposition men all the time.

And have you ever walked through a town with a prostitution problem?

"Come here and get fucked or are you a fag?" is a typical shout from a woman to a man. See any documentaries on the subject and its clear to see. Meanwhile feminists want wolf whistling to be made illegal. Maybe things should be made more equal first.

Suppose rather than asking if he could masturbate in front of her, Louis CK propositioned her for sex in the missionary position.
