The real story here seems to be that a vulnerable young woman was railroaded into making a rape claim she had no intention of bringing, because police needed to hit targets. They coached her to believe she was raped. This then led to an innocent man being imprisoned for over two years, after being vilified by the press before and during his trial.

This should scream that we have a problem with an ideological bias that's driving unsound and injust rape prosecutions, particularly when it comes on top of the report criticising the London CPS for just that and on top of the jaw-dropping Mark Pearson case.

But no: the press doesn't even try to do its job and our public servants just double down on the bias.

Which report exactly was criticising the London CPS? Hadn't heard of that.

All I see i the media is how awful it is for the woman.

Ched Evans has been found innocent in the court of law and he served over 2 years in prison for a crime he never committed. Why don't they say how bad that is? It truly is a disgusting state of affairs. To be a man these days is a crime!

[–]5th_Law_of_Robotics 21 points22 points23 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I've yet to see a feminist celebrate a man being cleared of rape. Even if they're obviously innocent like at Duke, rolling Stones accuser, Brian Banks, etc.

They really view any not guilty verdict in a case of a man being accused of rape by a woman as an attack on women.

[–]Wisemanner 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly, and they think all false accusers are innocent.

[–]mikesteane 14 points15 points16 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Even what was known before the "new" evidence, there were very good grounds for doubting the conviction. I hope all those people who were baying for the man's blood and saying that in addition to the prison sentence he should also be prevented from playing professional football are chastened by the conviction being quashed.

[–]VanishingZero 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Jesus, of course they won't be chastened. This will just be another reason to cry foul and try to undermine legal protection.

And when is Vera Baird up for re-election? I'd like to make a donation to her most credible opponent.

[–]all-round-good-egg 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Vera Baird QC told the BBC that the case had set things back "about 30 years".

Depends on which perspective you see it from. This is a clear case where sexual history is extremely relevant - also if this wasn't as highly publicised the chances of the other men being able to testify would have been slim to none. So there is actually an argument for publishing the identities of the party making the allegation.

It's not as if sex is shameful these days, you can't pick and chose which Victorian principles you want to keep.

[–]CallMeDexx 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminists don't care about justice. They only care about women.

[–]Wisemanner 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This creature has said the police in her area, presumably on her orders, will continue to believe all sexual assault accusers, even though the police authority has said it meant no such thing and that the police should only believe the allegation to the point of starting an investigation, and should then be neutral.

[–]v573v 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

We've gone back, I'm afraid, probably about 30 years.

There are organizations that do exactly this using DNA to overturn wrongful convictions from 30 years ago...

[–]Imnotmrabut[S] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But Vera Knows This - and she also knows that such reinvestigation of DNA does not occur after a person has been released from prison.

There are so many cases of dubious legality where men have served extended sentences for crimes/rapes they possibly/even probably did not commit and where they could be exonerated by DNA that will never be tested.

Every rape case that results in a guilty verdict is PROOF of rape cultureTM and every rape case that results in a not-guilty verdict is proof of rape cultureTM . You just can't win.

[–]Imnotmrabut[S] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Rape CultureTM is not what Femillons support or talk about since Rape CultureTM is the real and original, coming from the 1974/5 Film of that name, made by Cambridge Documentary Films and inspired by the work of "Prisoners Against Rape" (William Fuller & Larry Canon, Lorton Reformatory Prison, Virginia.

A fact that femiloons hate and which drives them mad - William Fuller of Prisoners Against Rape was the first person to have the Rape CultureTM recorded in the Congressional Record.

"RESEARCH INTO VIOLENT BEHAVIOR: OVERVIEW AND SEXUAL ASSAULTS HEARINGS JANUARY 10, 11, 12, 1978 [No 64]". Congressional Record: Page 676.

It just shows how it's a Trendy Term for Mass Psychosis and Hysteria. If It wasn't, It would not have lain dormant like a sleeping beauty in the congressional record t be revived.... and still No Prince Charming is bothering to Snog it back into life.

[–]feedmecarrots -1 points0 points1 point 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

There are too many of these happening. It may past time to prosecute fales rape acusers and start prosecuing malicious prosecutors. Too many bunk cases are going to trial and they have to know they are bunk. Given the feminist attitude to seeing men falsely acused being aquitted, it may be a necessary wake up call. That quoe fro the former Soolicitor Grneral is horrifying. She should not practice law.

[–]Imnotmrabut[S] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

She is technically no longer practicing law (Thank God) - just controlling how it is implemented in one part of the country ... and when given a microphone and access to media.

It is interetsing that most BBC Journalists are so lazy they can't be bothered with any pundit outside of the M25 Orbital Motorway/Freeway around London. Yet when it's rape they dash to "The Scottish Borders" to dig up Vera Baird????? ..... cos she fits the biases, politics and agendas of certain BBC Journalists and Editors.

I keep wondering why Vera Baird is given preferential access to BBC Broadcasting compared to other more accessible Pundits with a more rational, on point and even more modern view of the Universe. Never underestimate the Biased Broadcasting Corporation and who has been sleeping with who. P¬))

[–]feedmecarrots 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The BBC is way too tolerant to feminists. Someone should tell them that only seven percent of women in the UK identify as feminist. They are backing a losing social horse

I really would like to see proseutors put on notice. There is too much of this worldwide. At least Jian Ghomeshi didn't have to suffer a second trial. After the first one, was full of perjurers and the second looked to be more of the same.
