I was circumcised. I was forced; I didn't have a choice in the matter. That should change. I didn't want to be circumcised. I want my choice & freedom back. They took away my choice. That's not what I would have chosen. They are idiots to wishfully delude that.

If you are talking infant circ, then it's simply wrong. It takse the choice out of the rightful penis owner's hands. Adults getting it done on their own I have no issue with.

Some guys here are taking the usual stance of calling it mutilation because they think that what happens in the USA happens all over the world.

Circumcision is a requirement for Jews (15 million worldwide) and Muslims. I am in Europe and circumcision is not something that is done. I don't understand why it is so popular in the USA.

Here it is only done well after birth and only if the boy cannot drag his foreskin down for proper hygiene.

I have no statistics but I would say that maybe 5% of young men (not babies) are circumsised. We consider it like any other type of surgical procedure - to be avoided at all costs if not strictly necessary.

“It has been estimated that 111 to 125 normal infant boys (for whom the risk of UTI is 1% to 2%) would need to be circumcised at birth to prevent one UTI.” And UTIs can easily be treated with antibiotics.

For more information on the detailed anatomy and role of the foreskin, I recommend watching this presentation from Dr. Guest for about 15 minutes as he discusses the innervation of the penis, the mechanical function of the foreskin and its role in lubrication during sex, and the likelihood of decreased sexual pleasure for both male and partner.

The lack of a consensus on this issue has hobbled the MRM! It makes the MRM just look like a joke. How can you be for men’s rights but also be for mutilating newborn boys?

Look at the American Pediatrics Association policy as well as the CDC policy. Neither recommends routine circumcision. The APA states that the benefits aren't proven to outweigh the risks. The CDC states that circumcision may be beneficial to preventing STIs.The risks of circumcision include incomplete circumcision, excessive skin removal, adhesions, infection, penile amputation, antibiotic resistant staph infection, and death. All for a procedure with questionable benefits, that can be achieved through condom use with the primary risk being mildly reduced sexual pleasure. Circumcision is male genital mutilation and should be abolished.

As a charity that supports men who have been adversely affected by circumcision, one of the biggest frustrations is that the procedure was downplayed & they experienced consequences that they were not told about.

Some of them feel 'mutilated', others feel great.

Education & consent all the way.

Surgical alteration is a choice only that person should make. informed consent is the most important factor. INFANTS CANNOT CONSENT

Our priority: provide information to men with foreskin issues so they have options aside from resorting to a circumcision AND supporting men who have been affected physically/psychologically by the damage provides the general framework for our approach.

Circumcision of babies and underage people is NEVER justified. There are no benefits to it worth sacrificing part of the genitalia. You don't need your two smallest toes or your outer ear either, but you wouldn't justify chopping them off babies, i hope.

I only know one thing for sure. As a man I cannot tell the difference between someone who is circumcised and someone who is not if they are erect. Maybe I am missing something.

You know how it is when you are young. For example my cousin was circumsised but a good friend of ours was not. When we watched stuff together from what I saw there was no difference.

But there is a big difference when you are not hard. Logic tells me that having your most sensitive part (the glans) continuously exposed and touching your clothes reduces sensitivity.
