You're seriously asking how wanting baby boys to have protections against involuntary genital mutilation (like baby girls have) tie into the men's rights movement? It is another area of society where we lack the same legal protections that females have.

Most of us are walking around with penises that had part chopped off without our consent. I don't understand how that doesn't bother more guys.

Foreskins have a high number of nerve endings and protect the glans from rubbing against clothing, meaning those of us who are circumcised will experience limited sexual pleasure compared to if we weren't. Botched circumcisions happen, potentially causing permanent disfunction and disfigurment.

Most circumcisions in the US aren't done for religious reasons. Jews and Muslims are small minorities here. The cleanliness argument is BS, in an era with running water, soap, and antibiotics. The American Pediatric Association has published that the benefits of circumcision dont outweigh the risks.

Want to know the real reason we get cut? Because lazy parents don't want to take an extra 30 seconds when bathing baby boys, and because women prefer cut dicks. That should piss every guy off.

I fully support a guy being able to get a circumcision when he is at an appropriate age to consent to such a procedure. I am against it being done to baby boys with no say in the matter.

It's about bodily autonomy. If the alleged risk reduction or religious compulsion wouldn't be acceptable reasons to forcibly retract and sever the prepuce and frenulum from a healthy adult person's genitals, why should that change in the previous stages of their life?

how does it fall into mrm? alot of countries prohibit the procedure on underage girls. alot of those same countries also fully allow the procedure to be done on underage boys. how is countries discriminating against men by allowing them to be mutilated for the parents weird satisfaction while protecting women from it not a mrm issue? its literally the argument of women/girls having the right to grow up whole regardless of the parents creepy ass obsession with the aesthetics of thier kids genitals. while men dont get that right even in alot of countries that give that right to women.

Yes technically circumcision does reduce chances of infection, but it’s a discussion of consent and necessity. An uncut male is not at a 100% chance of getting infections (especially if he cleans properly). A baby also can not consent to surgery, which circumcision is (and mostly an necessary one at that)

This is absolutely a MRM issue, the primary, #1 issue, IMO.

All the “benefits” are lies. Circumcision actually INCREASES infections, STDs, HIV, cancer, erectile dysfunction, sexual problems, mental health problems, and on and on.

There are no religious exceptions to severe child sexual abuse. We need this human rights atrocity to end.

Let's imagine that tomorrow, a new shaving cream hit the shelves. Among it's ingredients, were ground up clitorises from newborn baby girls. And that male TV presenters would go around promoting it because it's the best shaving cream. Would you consider this to be a shockingly, cruelly callous way to treat baby girls? Would you be upset about this? What if anyone you talked to about this told you that it's not a big deal, I mean, it's not like we're cutting up boys without anesthesia a couple of days after they were born to put their ground up organs into wrinkle creams, am I right or am I right? It's just not the same you see? Grow up already!

Except that this shaving cream doesn't exist, and probably never will. The aforementioned Skin Medica wrinkle cream though? 100% real. And Oprah 100% promoted it.

Circumcision has some benefits and the pros, cons, risks, and rewards should be all be looked at by any ADULT that would like to undergo the procedure.

No one is anti circumcision. Just anti performing them on babies that aren’t able to make their own informed decision.

It's problematic because it's children who are being circumcised. It's a bodily modification that doesn't provide any health benefits, and it's done without the consent of the person being circumcised, because children aren't able to give educated consent.

If it's so important for religious or cultural reasons, let the child grow up, decide how they want to live, and then decide if they want their body altered in such way.

Circumcision provides minimal if any health benefits. Men were born with skin to protect the glands for a reason. Most men in the USA are cut and we have huge numbers of erectile dysfunction. There's other benefits to be uncut but just knowing that keeping my son uncut is good for that purpose alone was enough to say no to the cut. When he's still going strong at 50+ he'll have to thank me lol. And I will remind him 😂

Many Muslims also support female circumcision. No, I'm not talking about removing the clitoris; I'm talking about removing the clitoral hood, which is equivalent to the foreskin. Why is male circumcision treated differently? Even a prick to the female genitalia is illegal. How is this not discrimination against boys?

-In my personal opinion, this is the only good reason to perform a circumcision. As a medical necessity. Not as a religious belief or for whatever other reasons they're done.

It isn't. The issue here is that religious rights end where human rights begin. All ppl have the right to bodily integrity on and after birth. Circumcision violates this right unless done voluntarily by the circumcisee after reaching adulthood. Ie, a man must CHOOSE to be cut in the fullness of adulthood for it to be ethically defensible. No religion be it Islam, Judaism, or Coptic Xianity, can impose this onto an infant and have it be an ethical action.

It's related to MRM with how it relates to female genital mutilation - which FGM does tend to cut off the entire clitoris among other "trimming" down there. The foreskin does some fair amount of things for the penis, and most of the "reasons" to cut it off end up being purely religious (ie: a 2000+ year old book told me if I don't I'm going to hell), or hygiene (some 1500-1700's kind of lack of hygiene and it would be some fair bit harder to keep boys/mens junk clean).

In modern times? We have qtips, soap, generally easy access to showering/bathing, condoms, antibiotics. There's no real "need" for circumcision in terms of hygiene anymore - and the religious argument loses a ton of it's value through that; if you were born naturally with a foreskin, and your god tells you it must be cut off, why would an all powerful god birth you with a foreskin in the first place?

In a way i agree with you, but as far as religion goes should that be your choice or your parents? I doubt a god would keep you from whatever after life you believe in becasue your parents decided not to cut off the skin your god put there....

I get tit though especially is your younger in your faith that not doi g what your pastor says can be scarry. But as a christian with critical thinking i know when the bible was written and in that time circumcision was medically suggested due to the technology to get clean water and soaps.

Im 35 and even when i was a baby i would say medically circumcision was a way to medically prevent things for a large part of the world population. But today, we can clean water in almost every home locally and better options for safe sex.

Depending on where you live medical reasons have been disproven. Its no longer a issue

Honestly there are way bigger male issues in society than circumsition. Look in the rare case of a botched circumsition I can understand why you'd be against it. But honestly its just another awesome scar that men get to wear and overcome the odds of. Its gonna continue to be a cultural commodity there is nothing you can do about it.

Also I may be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure you can't give infants sedatives or numbing agents. They just cut it off while the INFANT is experiencing pain they don't deserve and couldn't possibly understand
