Thanks for writing.
This horrible stuff only happens in america, please remember that.
Similar stuff seems to happen in places like the UK and Canada. Comments?

Well i am speaking of europe, canada is not and uk only partially europe

http://archive.is/lxFKm: Female quotas in the cockpit (Germany) http://archive.is/4lR2B: Swedish men who protect women from rapists are still misogynists http://kukuruyo.com/2016/02/17/spain-gender-laws-a-country-against-men/: In Spain, only men can commit "gender violence":
It took me literally two minutes to come up with these examples. If I did actual research, I'm sure I'd find more. Feminism is a hate movement, and not only in the anglosphere.
[–]Comyu -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That is no fucking source. I can always find some guys that are nuts, that doesnt say alot about the whole movement. I know that in america the whole movement has problems, but not so here.
[–]dagthegnome 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
They're not meant to be academic or even journalistic sources. I used them only as examples of widespread cultural misandry, which is every bit as prevalent in continental Europe as it is in the Anglosphere.
Because of the academic and media blackout regarding any criticisms of feminism, there are very few academic studies into feminism's attitude towards men, even in the United States where, as you argue, that attitude is more rampant. In Europe, the same as in the Anglosphere, there are very few spaces in which it is acceptable to criticize feminism without losing your job or your funding, and so the only widespread sources to use as evidence of cultural misandry come from mass media and social media. That does not invalidate them. The ideology of gender has given rise to a culture war, and so examples of that war being fought in cultural spaces are the best way to demonstrate its existence.
There are other examples, including this documentary, which lost a Norwegian charity its government funding, this article, demonstrating the toxic anti-male culture in German domestic violence shelters, this translated article from a Swedish newspaper about a charity pushing to make it illegal to criticize feminism, and this document, which is designed to provide a model piece of legislation for all European countries to adopt: among its stated goals is criminalizing "anti-feminism".
One of the initial articles I shared above demonstrates how violence against women in Spain is already treated, in law, as a more serious crime than violence against men. These and more examples provide sufficient evidence of a pattern of societal and cultural bias towards men in numerous European countries.

Sweden is probably the worst offender.

Feminists from the Third World are about a thousand times more reasonable than the feminists in the rich countries.
[–]mikesteane 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Many men seriously believe that. Until they are faced with the family courts.
[–]Comyu -3 points-2 points-1 points 10 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I think i know my countrys courts better than you.
[–]mikesteane 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Possibly, but then again possibly not. And you would have very little information to base such a statement on, given that you only know anything about one of the two things you are comparing.
[–]Comyu 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
What the fuck, you know more about your court, but you said that its bad for man in those courts for man literly 2 comments up.. And i know its not bad in ours so i come to the conclusion that..?
[–]mikesteane 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
Not at all. I haven't stated my nationality or anything about my sources of information. Making comparisons without information about both things being compared is not well considered.
For an idea of radical feminists in Britain, which is not part of America, but is part of Europe, watch this documentary.
Edit: I would be very surprised if you knew more about your court system than the man in this article. He is a barrister, but only discovered what the family court is like when he was getting divorced himself.

I'm OPs defense, I would say that is culturally much more similar to the US than Europe.
Uk is closer to america than it is to europe
[–]mikesteane 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
However, it is not in America and serves as a counter example to the blanket statement "This horrible stuff only happens in america."

What is this?
[–]Captaincastle 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
So because it's only happening to us fat Americans we should suck it up?
Holy hell you're a bad person if you can't empathize with the plight of people who are in a worse situation than yourself.
[–]Comyu 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
No, but i see hate and depression vs woman on this sub so much, which i think is not fair because out of the us in some countrys woman either have no rights or both genders are pretty equal. Complete equality is something that cant be achieved though, there are just too many differences
[–]Wildcard344 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Your attitude of discounting others learned experiences because you don't see them in your country yet is a bit sad. your inability to show empathy is just silly.I hope you are right but I see the EU is a feminist hotbed of stupidity just like the rest of the west. I don't get why you made your initial statement other than that you are a feminist yourself. As an example look at the Islamic invasion of the EU atm and how the liberal media and politicians are covering up bad behavior with support from feminists. Still if Britain leaves this week and turkey gets fast tracked EU membership 5 more million invaders will make your fine women and pretty decent feminists able to explain their position to them. Have fun discovering what real misogynists are like.

So what?
[–]ThreeLF 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
two things:
1) I encourage you to look at the U.K. and Sweden.
2) just because something isn't a problem in some parts of the world doesn't mean it isn't a problem. Sure most Christians in the Northern U.S. aren't homophobic, but that doesn't mean we should ignore the flaws in the religion because some Christians are good.
[–]Lethn 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is just like with Islam, Comyu is trying to use the "Not all feminists" statement to try and deflect any criticism of the feminist movement itself as if we're somehow bad people for pointing out all the bullshit that they believe in.
Sorry Comyu, but much of the feminist movement, just like with other groups or religions have their problems because a large portion of feminists are being taught anti-capitalist and Marxist bullshit along with to hate the west. In fact the parellels between tactics used in Feminism and Islam to attack anyone that isn't them is ridiculously uncanny so no wonder they get along so well.
If you want to stop people from deriding feminism Comyu, then it's down to you to fucking fix it, you're trying to shoot the messenger for simply telling you what everyone else has observed.

Sweden
Feminism in Sweden is brutal.
[–]civilsaint 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Having lived in Germany and seen the type of feminism there, I can tell you it is much different than the US. German women don't berate men for being men or being manly. German women's freedoms don't come at the expense of men. AFAIK, Germany doesn't have a radical feminist movement anything like that in the US.
For instance, in Germany a woman is expected to resist a rapist, whereas in the US, feminists claim all men are rapists and essentially all sex can be rape, even if initiated by the woman.
Now, this isn't all women in the US. The majority aren't like this. The problem is, like all shitty, repressive political movements, you have a small bands of people imposing their views on society.
That is what we are fighting against. There are many women that are part of the movement. Many of the most popular voices in MRM are women.

Indeed, every country is distinct. But even countries as far afield as Germany and India have their feminist eruptions; see my links below, of the "sexism" of Dortmund stoplights. Austrian and Swedish feminists have even proposed men be barred from standing up when urinating. And French feminists tried to term sexual assault a sculpture honoring veterans by reproducing the famous, overjoyed soldier kissing a woman on VE-day: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2783251/French-feminists-fury-demand-Normandy-statue-based-famous-VJ-day-photo-torn-portrays-sexual-assault.html http://www.lefigaro.fr/arts-expositions/2014/11/24/03015-20141124ARTFIG00147-le-memorial-de-caen-et-les-feministes-font-la-paix.php http://www.militarytimes.com/story/military/archives/2013/03/20/famous-kissers-weigh-in-on-photo-controversy/78537246/
The statue business shows the extremely vile nature of feminism, when one considers that: * The two principals in the photo/statue have said they do not consider the kiss assault * Millions upon millions of males were conscripted, dismembered, died, murdered, or mutilated protecting Western females, yet feminism complains of -- a kiss! The self-centredness is mind-boggling.
[–]civilsaint 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
la statue avait été critiquée par l'association Osez le féminisme, qui affirmait avoir réuni plus de 800 signatures pour obtenir son retrait
The critics amassed 800 signatures? How is that a significant number?
That video is great. At 47 seconds, she points out that it was too early to definitively say whom to believe. This is the direct opposite of what American feminists say.
She makes a lot of really good points here, and makes a nice separation between 'les feministes' and 'des feministes'. I wish this had subtitles so we could send it around to American feminists and show them was a feminist that believes in equality and the rule of law looks like.
[–]Mens-Advocate 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
My point exactly; feminist insanity does have a foothold in non-Anglo countries, but encounters much more skepticism and doesn't automatically spread like wildfire as in the Anglo countries. (Osez did force a plaque excusing the statue, which was not removed.)
Incidentally, even as Badinter (wife of former Minister of a Justice) and other Frenchwomen refused to see DSK as a gender issue, the NYT and other Anglo press were insisting the DSK affair creating a huge gender divide in France. I don't know whether their lies arose from ideology or simple incompetence.
OP raised an interesting and complex issue; I don't know why his post was deleted.

LOL! You must have been at the Schnapps. Several European countries have the Nordic model when it comes to prostitution. Namely, the customers (usually male) get charged with a crime while the actual prostitutes (usually female) do not. Several countries also have laws forcing company boards to take on women simply because they are women. If i wasn't still half asleep i could probably remember even more Euro-shit being crapped on men. As it is, the above will have to suffice.
In Germany, Holland, and I think Denmark (not sure), prostitution is legal. So there are both sides of the fence.
Yes we have some weird feminism. But its stuff like quotas or gendering words, but what we do not do is that whole family rape child porn court advantage
[–]Asher-D 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Still really bad stuff, it's classical sexism. I don't see how you can brush those things to the side and say feminism isn't bad in your country when those things are in place.
[–]Mens-Advocate 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago* (7 children) | Copy Link
Excuse me, let me re-interpret Comyu.
Feminism is erratic; for example, Portugal and France have made "psychological abuse" of a (female) mate a criminal act subject to prison. And Spain and Israel report laws so one-sided that men are "terrorised". Nevertheless, Comyu is right in one sense: Most non-Anglo countries accept that men's nature is to chase women, and women's nature is to try to use men. Examples: 1.The most dogmatic, puerile extremes of feminism appear in the Anglo countries, such as the Strauss-Kahn affair, and the Turner fiasco. The other developed countries have a more realistic attitude towards sex and so on; desire is not a thought crime. 2.The child sex abuse hysteria (driven by feminist SJWs) has been worst in the USA and the UK, with many innocents convicted: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day-care_sex-abuse_hysteria In France, the first and last hysteria trial outraged the citizenry in favour of the defendants; the innocent were acquitted, and the government had to apologise: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outreau_trial 3.Women with a career get far more money from husbands in the USA than elsewhere: Melanie Griffiths, Stephanie March, Robin Wright, etc. Spousal support for a working wife is less common elsewhere. 4.Setting payments by divorced males on the basis of imputed income (rather than real income) is most common in the USA.
Feminism is definitely a global disease, but the prevalence and severity of the infection seem in many ways worst in the Anglo countries.
[–]civilsaint 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Interesting case from France. I hadn't heard about it.
Feminism is like a polio charity; once certain problems are solved, it continues to cast about for new targets (or new victims, in the case of feminism). Thus the atrocities of child abuse hysteria, false spousal rape accusations, false recovered memory syndrome, affirmative consent, etc. OP is right that many of these seem to start in the USA, then metastasise to the other Anglo countries, then to a lesser extent to the rest of the world. But the non-Anglo countries are more sceptical and less likely to go whole-hog feminist, as the Outreau case shows.
I don't think they catch on to the extent they do in the Anglo countries. They don't have the victim mentality that SJWs have.
It extends to alcohol as well. With the exception of the Nordic countries that also have issues with over-consumption, Europeans don't see alcohol as an excuse for behavior.
If you get drunk and have sex, it is on you because no one forced you to get drunk.
If be curious as to how these countries handle false allegations.
There does seem to be more awareness that women can lie:
France's most famous feminist refuses to rush to condemn Strauss-Kahn (DSK), defending due pocesss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMi69LUIKHc
She says (among many other defences of due process) that the word of a female or child accuser should not be sacrosanct.

See such statements are exactly why most people dislike feminism and stuff like menrights. Its fucking retarded to say "they accept that all woman use men" Go to /r/niceguys
[–]Mens-Advocate 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Where did I say the word "all"? Further, you are naive if you think many (or perhaps even most, but not "all") women don't use men. Even the "good ones" - wives who are faithful and who are nice to their men - usually have a strong element of self-interest involved; witness the classic case of the wife who dumps the husband when he gets sick or loses his job. Reality, not misogyny. Mature, realistic men engage in relationships but do try to keep their eyes open, choose one of the good ones, even then write prenups, etc.
I did glance at your /niceguys - even there, reality peeks through the cracks in the "women are wonderful" fantasy:

Nope, feminism in Britain is also pretty bad and in some respects actually worse, sure feminism in certain places are fine, but radical feminists infect more countries than just America, I live in a British Overseas Territory and radical feminism is here, albeit it's not as bad but that's because it's a majority black country and people here tend to question modern things in general in favor of tradition.
Asher, I think the OP would have been more accurate to say extreme, radical feminism is more entrenched in government, and receives less scepticism, in the Anglo-influenced countries. For example, the "affirmative consent" nonsense originated in, and is strongest in, the USA.
[–]EricAllonde 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The situation in Australia is not yet as bad as in the USA, Canada or the UK, but it's heading in the same direction. Our feminists are working hard to catch up as quickly as possible.

I imagine you haven't been on this sub long if you can make the statement you just did. But, to provide you evidence against your claim, here's something from Sweden:

TLDR: Sweden, probably the single most feminist state in the world, wants to make it illegal to pee standing up.
