"Patriarchy" when used in a bickering and domination contest by modern women, just refers to them telling men that they are evil. I hate that term.

I had a women supervisor literally say that to me regarding both raises and coming in at odd hours: Since I don’t have a wife or family she said, I have the time to come in during off hours and certainly don’t need the pay a married man does.

The attitude didn’t really surprise me. What surprised me was this discrimination was apparently so acceptable it could be stated outright.

Married men should not be paid more simply because they are married. Pay should be decided based on what you are bringing to the job.

I don't blame that many people choose to stay single. Its hard to find a decent or normal women out there. Thats not indoctrinated in some extreme way.

Could be a love-hate relationship. Married men earn more than single men, but spends more. Assuming a generous 25% net income difference, there are mouths to feed in your family. That 25% may not cover the increased expenses, bills/mortgage/loans.

That's not even including the birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, and the wife's erratic retail therapies that husband has to spend on.

Married men, especially married men with kids, are going to end up getting paid more because ultimately they feel the pressure of expenses more and are going to fight harder for more pay for themselves I think.

If you are a single guy living in an apartment that costs you $400 a month making $75k, you can afford most of the things that you could want in life. If you want a cool car, a few guitars, eat out frequently, go to concerts, and still save for retirement? Yeah, that's all pretty possible.

If you get married and buy a big house and have two or three kids, well now your expenses have increased. You are feeding and housing four or five people. Your expenses don't really go up linearly (more like logarithmically) but they do go up. And, if your wife works, then one of you is basically working to pay the daycare bill while the other works to meet the family's expenses so that doesn't really help.

Having kids is never really something that is going to make things better for you. It's a biological urge. I mean, I get it, I have a biological urge to sit on the couch masturbating and eating meat all day, but we can resist our biological urges and focus on ourselves to make our own lives better.

I’m sure it has nothing to do with married men having more drive and purpose in their life. I was relatively deadbeat until I had a child, then I figured it the fuck out. Never had I been discriminated against for not being married with children before. Nor do I gain any special treatment in my life because I am now. That being said, single people in general can be looked at with skepticism, especially if you’re hitting your 30’s and still haven’t found someone who can tolerate your ass every single day.

People still think I kidnapped my kid when it’s just him and I out and about, even though I wear a ring. But I picked up skills and make a lot more than I did as a career salesman. That had nothing to do with me being a married man and more to do with me wanting to be better to provide. 🤷‍♂️
