Nah everything you mentioned are still masculine traits. No problem with a woman wanting to protect and provide, a lot of single mothers do.

There's nothing wrong with men doing feminine things either. I don't really know how to put it. They're no less men, but they're not manly men.

I once thought as you did. I didn't wake up on my own though. It took a lot of reflection and information from banned/censored groups for me to find the truth, which was buried beneath politics, biases and political witch hunts.

You shouldn't be lost about it at all. You were socially conditioned against your best interests to be a chivalrous, gynocentric, courtly loving, naive, gullible cash cow. Everything you were brainwashed into becoming was to support men's disposable income becoming women's and the state's disposable income.

It's hard and maybe even painful to hear, but it's time to take off the rose colored glasses for good. Only with clarity will you find peace and acceptance, which will eventually nullify the confusion.

You're going to be brainwashed again now, but in a totally different way, but with the same ultimate objective of you becoming a financial slave and human shield of women and women's powerful, wealthy state husbandry.

It's up to you to find the information needed to protect yourself. You're confused and that's the intent. You need to figure out how to change that.

I guarentee you that none of what you're being told by gynocentric forces is in your best interests and will be mostly composed of shaming language and carefully obfuscated 'man up' hyperbole and rhetoric. They won't call it 'man up' anymore. They've grown too clever for that. Same with the 'man tax'. It's carefully hidden now.

It's common and natural for people to feel upset/uncomfortable when their culture is changing. It's why nations often have a hard time integrating and accepting other cultures.

Define masculinity for yourself and find your tribes. I go to a local men's group and we follow Moore's Jungian model. Basically a man has to put different hats on but is always centred in his masculine values and missions balanced by positive feminine traits. Your authentic self.

Neither the tyrant or the weakling, the apex is the King in all his glory. Outside interference is just "noise".

In my opinion being a man is just you being a mature & caring adult male. Being a woman is being a mature & caring adult female. If you have a family that you care for & want to provide for them? You’re a man. If you’re a stay at home husband who pours his heart into caring for the kids? You’re a man.

You don’t have to be big, buffed, go fishing, be lumber jack, or do any so called masculine activity’s to be a man. Being a man is knowing you were put on the earth to help others, & being a respectful person.

It doesn’t matter what you wear, how big your Addams Apple is, how well you can fight someone; as these don’t determine what a man really is, maturity does.

This is coming from a femboy. I’m emo af & wear my skirts with confidence; but it’s not my personality being a femboy. I have to go to college, work, & care for who I love without any external support because I was abandoned by my own family for not being “Manly”. Please take it from me that being “masculine” isn’t being a man, so when you see the next guy wearing nail polish; don’t doubt how manly he really is & judge it on his attitude, personality, & confidence, that’s what really matters in a person.

Remember, it’s what’s on the inside that counts.

In my view, the one universal tenant of manhood is the ability to define for yourself what makes you a man and live it regardless of any social or peer pressure you may face.

This tenant holds true for two reasons: 1) it is impervious to the ebb and flow of today’s gender-fluid environment and the less concrete definition of manhood as compared to a generation ago. 2) It is a tenant for which femininity cannot make a similar claim due to the fact that women tend to be relationship oriented, thus leaving them more apt to cater to peer influences, and their tendency to be interdependent rather than independent.

There is this overboard obsession about dividing people into different groups like their sex and viewing everything through that lens and people trying to make their sex their personality. It comes from feminist trying to get power but ideally it can eventually be toned down to a point where it's examined and discussed in a more appropriate measure.

I don't agree with the modern view of manhood, but I also don't think it was totally right in the past either. The outgroup bias of the past that made men constantly protect/white knight for women is a flaw of old manhood that feminists exploited to gain control over the world.

Here is the history:

Around the 1960s, Feminists realized that biological differences between men and women can be used to explain inequalities between men and women. They decided to emphasize socially constructed 'gender' as way to gain political traction.

They developed the theory that the reason inequalities exist between men and women was because men are raised/socialized to be dominant and women are raised/socialized to be submissive. The socialization of boys and men was labeled masculinity, and girls' socialization was labeled feminity.

To prevent inequalities between women under the social construction model, they wanted the differences in socialization between boys and girls to be minimized or removed.

Because they view masculinity as about domination and oppression, and see nothing good about it, they are trying to socialize boys and men to reject masculinity.

In fact, many feminist see gender as a 'system of oppression' and are trying to eliminate it altogether.

So after 50-60 years of this unscientific, politically motivated narrative, it's no wonder people are confused. My advice is to reject everything you hear about masculinity. Nearly all of it is corrupted by this narrative.

Exactly feminism has destroyed masculinity without doing anything whatsoever to replace it properly, we were left behind alone on our own to figure out what to do.
In my view gender roles only made sense as complementary, the moment the female gender role was removed, also was the male role.
Our roles emerged from a time where pressure to survive was unavoidalbe, people didnt have the luxury to create their own life in the capacity we ahve today, the only thing that matter was to do the most productive possible way to organize ourselves with the limtied techonolgy and knowlodge we had.
So men narrowed and deepen their experience as doing those things where they were the most productive, as hunters, fighters, builders, engineers, leaders and so on, because that was the best option for the subsistence and survival of everybody, same with women.
So our gender roles and masculinity/femininity are intertwineed, and these at the same time are intertwineed with our evniroment, are we living in the savannas trying to survive, or in a metropolis layign in our bed while ordering uber eats.
So the reality is that because theres no threat to humanity or our own society, then theres no real reson to narrow and deepend oruselves into the most productive way of being, although is fine to do it as well if want pleases, although the system is not going to be oriented to serve it though (as in one can still aspire to be a ''real'' man today, but the system is just going to leech and denigrate his masculinity).
In conclusion we are now individuals crafting our own meaning in creative mode, dont look ourside for meaning, look inside of you.

It just seems like you have an extremely narrow view of what masculinity is. Also masculinity, like femininity, changes with the times. Usually we associate wigs and make up with feminine things yet the founding fathers and rich aristocrats of the old days did just that, wear powdered wigs and make up. Defining masculinity is like defining the water molecule. It exists, it is part of the universe. Maleness is part of all vertebrates, all mammals. So having to account for it or having to justifying its existence is like trying to give an ethical rationale or apology for the existence of wood. Wood just exists, it is part of the universe. What DOES demand justification is assuming wood, water, or maleness has to give a reason for why it should be permitted to exist.

There are some males who are not very good people. There are some females who are not very good people. But they are not good people because (hopefully) they are on their way to becoming better people; they are not bad because of their gender. Their gender does not determine whether they are good or bad.

Masculinity is the expression of maleness in our species. There is no reason we have to justify the existence of males in any other mammalian species; in fact, the very implication that one might have to is bizarre. So why would anyone have to justify - find a rationale - the existence of maleness in our own species?

Definitions of masculinity may change. Or more precisely, the behaviors associated with being a human male, or the behavior patterns that symbolically represent it, may change. In many cultures undergoing a painful physical or scarring procedure while stoically enduring pain, such as circumcision, was a behavior or ritual that symbolically represented masculinity. That ritual has fallen by the wayside in most modern cultures but it is still practiced in some indigenous cultures.

The rituals and symbolic meanings of masculinity may change over time or vary between cultures. But masculinity itself persists because it is part of the universe. In modern life, there is tremendous freedom of opportunity for the individual male to decide for themselves what it means to be a man, to be the man that you are. For example, letting yourself become a victim of paternity fraud is, frankly speaking, unmanly. Having your own opinions about manhood and standing your ground in face of opposition - most of which is ephemeral bullshit anyway - is a manly thing to do. You can define and perform your own rituals that symbolically represent your masculinity: make yourself smarter, make yourself more productive, make yourself into someone or something that others admire and want to emulate. Make yourself stronger. Manage your time and money better. Put people that make you weak out of your life. Don't do things or pay attention to things that make you weak. Much of pop culture, celebrity culture, advertising, outrage bait, etc., is designed and intended to make you weak.

Respect your masculinity. Pay tribute to it. Cherish it. It is something worth holding on to and one shouldn't take it for granted. Find new behaviors or attitudes that symbolically represent it or pay tribute to it. They don't have to be the same as anybody else's. But most importantly, don't put physical energy, mental energy, or time into things that make you weak.
