It's their stupid rape laws that include shit like getting cold feet about marrying a woman after sleeping with her. India has one of the worst rape laws out there, and that us just the tip of the iceberg.

So feminists just use India's own states, not bothering to question if they should given the unique circumstances in India.

Even alot of feminists think these rules are dumb.

I have to be honest here: not every culture is the same.

Yes, in many parts of India, this is a problem, along with a general lack of law and order. This is particularly a problem for lower caste people in rural areas. The men get robbed and beaten and the women get robbed and beaten and raped. Nobody cares when things happen to poor dalits.

In some cities, like Delhi, things are insane and unsafe for anybody. I know one woman who had a man grab at her from a tuktuk that sped away after he pulled down the front of her shirt. She also had her stuff stolen, her boyfriend was almost jumped, and they were kinda stalked by the employees of a hotel.

But not all India is like that. The Himalayan states are nice, as is the East and the far south.

In this case feminists have a point, however, India is unsafe in general for everybody in many parts of the country.

Also India's Family Surveys and NGOs are heavily funded by the West. Hence the more noise. from every activist to news outlets just try to amplify as much as they can.

In its table England has the second highest rate of rapes per 100000, about 117, Pakistan 92 and India only 0.9. Syria and Ukraine, which have had war zones since 2014, record less than 1. So how are these statistics compiled, reported to police, self-report, conviction?

In their next section the state in the UK rape is a significant problem but in the Ukraine it is a major problem. In the section on the UK, they conclude from the number of reported rapes that the rate of conviction is less than 1%, which presupposes that all reports are true, and that each conviction is for a single rape, and that most rapes are commited by a small number of serial offenders. This indicates that a lot of feminist ideology underpins the data used in some countries, and how Sweden and the UK can have unfeasible higher rates than war zones and countries with high rates of crime and violence.

I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion but it’s not a good idea for us to diminish actual harm for women. That implies they are our enemy and they’re not. The system that protects abusers is the problem. India is one of the most populace places on the planet, India also suffers from one of the worst poverty differentials. India absolutely has a SA problem.

Go with a woman to India and you will understand quickly there is no reason to question indias rape numbers. They are inflated by very bad laws that are one sided against men, but the men there are also brought up with 0 respect for women very often, especially in rural areas or the poor. Even if you discounted all the dumb laws, India would still have an astronomically high rape rate.

As a foreigner that visited india, I meet great people. I also had the most sexual harrasment than in any other country. To clarify in other countries it was non existent.

Yeah India's pretty freaking Backwater when it comes to rape especially outside major cities. The fact that they have separate travel cars for women so they don't get molested is a pretty big indicator. People here are delusional if they are only checking reported rape statistics. They allow marital rape for one which shows how un seriously the law views rape. A news journalist from cnn had her camera light go off while surrounded by Indians and was instantly sexually assaulted by dozens of Indians.

Indian authorities do not take rape seriously due to their culture and it's why rape goes largely unreported. In developed countries women are not afraid to come forward and therefore there are more reported cases.

Female friend who has been to India (with a group fortunately) has told me men would gather in groups and stare at them and some would follow them around.

It's definitely an issue (for some reason that whole area has some of the worst offenders pakistan/bangladesh) and not a hoax.

Western countries have higher reports but that is mostly because they have laws in place to protect Female accusations so more come forward (even if some of them are fake sadly).

I just want people to realize before any discussion or inferences that as " MRAs", we are not in a soccer match with the teams as "Man" vs "Woman."

We are for the betterment of each and every single man. We can both acknowledge the elite men on the top who don't care about most of us, the women who degrade and dehumanize us for things we did not do, and the mentally ill "incels" and "losers" as people whom we are fighting against.

We don't have to take responsiblity for or defend every single man, just as how you will have almost no woman taking responsibility for their crimes or wrong doings.

According to reported raped Sweden has notably more rapes than India but of course reporting can vary from country to country as can definitions of this crime, so country to country comparisons become problematic.

What I find interesting in this comparison however is that Sweden went from priding itself as a feminist country with a low rape rate to having rape rates skyrocket. This is downplayed because it’s not politically correct to acknowledge a feminist country has this problem and it’s no PC to acknowledge this change was driven in large part by immigration policies.

India has some incredibly biased laws such as believing women as a default.

So, while I think there are problems comparing different countries, what’s incredibly clear to me is issues of sexual assault are often downplayed or over stated based on the agenda and political correctness at play. It’s not PC to acknowledge the role of immigration in rape in Sweden, but it’s incredibly PC to say India is a rape culture (due to Indian men).

I dare say it’s manipulation. India has the largest population in the World. So if the rate of this crime in India was the same as the global average, India would have the highest total number of them of any country. But this is simply because of the number of Indians.

I think taking data from reported rapes is somewhat useless information on this particular argument. It's more of an indicator of how comfortable victims are in actually reporting crimes than the actual reality of how often rape is happening.

I seriously doubt whales is home to the second highest number of rapes on earth.

Statistics are incredibly useful tools for processing large data pools, but they are only as useful as the person interpreting them. Most people do not think too much about the bigger picture when it comes to statistics.

In this case there are a LOT of things to take into account. I would be careful about claiming that the rape problems of certain places in India just being "made up by feminists".

You can ask Indian men and women if women should travel to certain parts of India and they would both advise you to go somewhere else.

I get that it's popular around here to shit on feminists at any opportunity, but let's not lose sight of the bigger picture. We should aim at being better than 4th wave feminists and not just blindly blame women for things like this.
