See, r/MR doesn't ban you because the mods have a policy of tolerance, and most of the readers agree: we prefer the upvote/downvote system to do the talking, that way each and every opinion is scrutinized and can be judged on an individual basis.

But this is where you have to ask yourself this: are you really doing yourself or us a favor by publishing an blog post bashing this board and posting a link here. What exactly do you wish to accomplish? Shame us out of the MRM? Guide the flock of lost sheep back to the righteous path of feminism? Satisfy the guilty pleasure of knowing you might have enraged some of us for the day? Seriously, I'm curious.

This link-to-a-single-screencap blogspam rant thing that seems to be repeating - is pretty fucking weak. It is just the attempt to intentionally make things out of context, then stand up on a soapbox where no one can refute you - instead of in the thread where those conversations/debates occur. Whoever is running that blog is a scared little mouse twisting things in underhanded ways. They'd do well at Fox News.

Also Kita, for someone who claims to avoid this reddit because it makes you uncomfortable... you sure do come here a lot.

This is the comment I posted, just interested to see if it passes moderation of the sight.

As a participant in r/mensrights, I can say that getting these sorts of things out into the open is a good thing for the subreddit, and that the men’s rights movement is not a consenting vehicle for misogyny or the denial of history. Exposure of these sorts of flaws in the bodies both feminism or men’s rights is a good thing, and is of benefit to both sides.

Meanwhile, women have never been drafted, or fought in any wars at all really, so while they were at home being denied the right to vote, men were getting stabbed in the lung with a spear. So there is that.

Good news, everyone! According a prolific commenter from r/MensRights, there is “literally no evidence supporting the idea that women had it any worse than the common man.”

Let's look at the facts in their proper context....

Men and women couldn't vote. People think it was only women who were deprived this right, but actually men were in the same boat unless they were land-owners, and up until the industrial revolution most people were living the same peasant lifestyles. Basically only the wealthy got to vote. Women at large only got the right to vote about 40 years after men did, and that's still well before blacks were able to.
Men were sent off to wars and died by the millions over the course of history. Thus far only a few thousand women have died in combat in all wars combined. For those who still don't get it... millions > thousands.
Men deferred to women when it came to matters of personal safety (eg Titanic), and in general chivalry was benevolent sexism, right down to matters of life and death.
Men work dangerous and sometimes life threatening soul-crushing jobs to provide for their families. It's telling that now that women are falling into the same rut they're wishing things were they used to be so they wouldn't have to provide for themselves.

So the idea being women were oppressed because they were provided for and protected by men is quite laughable. What women were actually oppressed for was indiscriminately asserting their sexuality and challinging the worth of those who protected and provided for them. The problem is that nobody stopped to think that hey, maybe that's a worthy trade-off?

What we're starting to see now is men throwing off the yolk of oppression from chivalry, beta providership, marriage and parenthood. In doing so men have given women what they wanted, equality--warts and all. In doing so women are picking up their equal share of the workload of building civilization and keeping it running, but unfortunately are finding out the hard way it isn't the fairytale they were sold. Oh no, it's hard work and as women take on their fair share it's freeing men from having to do so to the point they can sit at home, watch TV, play video games, and surf a smörgåsbord of porn day and night with no responsibilities to anyone but themselves. That is freedom, and if anything men should thank feminists. If it wasn't for them we'd still being screwed. Now that we've seen the light I fully expect more and more men to go their own way until the system crashes and burns. Meanwhile some feminists will try to shame men for taking advantage of the freedom feminists have unwittingly provided for them, so of which we've already read about (see also: articles about getting guys to "man up", "peter pan syndrome", and so on.

You failed both with historical and with recent examples to prove that women have or had it worse than the common man. It's a typical problem of those who suffer from solipsism; you don't see those below you. All you see is those men above you in status.

So how was I factually incorrect, again? Denying feminist "herstory" which is a faith-based article in the first place isn't factually incorrect, no matter how much it offends you after you've been indoctrinated in women's studies courses.

Because men fought to defend the country, and women did not.

Meanwhile, suffragettes and their ilk participated in the white feather campaign to shame men to go to war.

Perhaps suffragettes should have been spending their time campaigning for women to go to war rather than campaigning for the right to vote without the responsibility to defend the country.

Black men earned the right to vote by fighting in war. Women didn’t earn anything – it was handed to them.

“And yes, women didn’t go to war. Because they weren’t allowed to.”

Oh, please. Weren’t allowed?

Feminists turn women’s privilege into “oppression”.

Let me know when feminists campaign for women’s draft.

We all know feminism has always been about privileges for women at the expense of men, without any of the responsibilities men have.
