TLDR: Modern music hates men, worships women, but what else is new.

So obviously movies and tv shows have heavily swung in the weak dumb ML and strong brilliant etc FL. But I've noticed for years that music favors women to an insane degree. As a gay guy, it's more apparent for me because I don't really get anything out of women being the focus in movies, tv, or music. And I notice that 90% of music these days is just men simping for women, or women talking about how strong, sexy, etc. they are.

I pretty much only listen to foreign music now because all the Western stuff is totally Gynocentric. But I think the music being this way is really toxic for people developing. Men and women internalize the messaging and then subconsciously alter their behavior due to pack instinct.

The only thing I see that is different is rap which I still don't like the messaging of either. It's full of songs about rape, assault, murder, which I don't have an issue with from an artistic standpoint, but the degree to which music caters to the female fantasy is absurd and extremely annoying at this point.

I mean, there are literally two songs which have women as the target audience (in the lyrics) called try. One by Pink talking about how "you just gotta try" even when things get hard, which is a fine message, but then the one by Colbie Callait is that "you don't have to try" to be attractive or interesting, you just have to like yourself.

I get that individually the messaging of these songs is healthy, but I still find it offputting when women get supportive media for literally everything;

"I'm trying my best!" ... You go gurl!

"I don't want to try, I'm unique" ... You go gurl!

While men get shit on for immutable characteristics like height and dik size and that's just completely acceptable these days.
