The fact you’re gay & have an issue with the rhetoric this woman was spouting and yet she still carried on, just proves it’s not about actual justice or fighting to reform society, but demonising all men.

The idea that men are inherently evil and women are the most oppressed beings on the earth is a wonderful fallacy that’s been pushed for the last 20 years.

Both men & women have suffered the same amount of oppression. The suffragettes for example, it’s constantly pushed they fought for female equality and women’s right to vote. What isn’t discussed or spoken about, is how they only fought for middle class women’s right to vote. They didn’t want working class women to vote, and at the same time in the Uk men under the age of 21 couldn’t vote. Also men who were 21 who didn’t own their own home couldn’t vote.

Women have been revered since the history of human civilisation began. The earliest depiction of a deity is the Sumerian Goddess of fertility & war Innane. Women have always been protected by men in society, men did all the fighting, protecting, hunting. We as men are disposable! If women were these extremely oppressed individuals then why weren’t they treated as slaves, forced to work for free, fight in wars ect.

I’m getting real tired of the left/rights (my ideological stance is liberal) use of history to judge modern day society. You either use history as a whole to justify your actions today or you don’t use it at all. You cannot cherry pick moments of history to support your ideological stance when history itself doesn’t support it.

Yea lost a good one to university.

Was seeing a super chill chick for years before we did uni. She went to a uni about 5 hours away. I'd go visit her whenever I had a long weekend.

One time I went up to fix a door in the rental property her and 5 other girls were renting. Well long story short, I fixed it and explained an issue with the framing so to not shut it too fast. She goes (in a snarky attitude) "don't need to mansplain to me." ....I was so surprised with it and I think it was the first time I started falling out of love with her.

One Christmas later she talked about the double standards of men being allowed to have sex freely etc. And then how men are naturally predators and man...that was it.

Was an awful breakup as I loved her dearly and we were so good together. Dated for almost 8 years and the feminism consumed her. Started dressing freely, arm pit hair etc whatever who cares but the constant bringing up about trashing men...😥. One of our friends in highschool committed suicide and her father worked intense manual labor so the mother never had to (cost him his mobility in his 50s)...and yet no awareness. I just couldn't do it anymore, broke down and broke up with her. It was her unawareness that killed me.

Needless to say, living the dog life and much healthier mentally.

Sorry to hear you lost your best friend. My former best friend (girl) also started getting similar views after being in an all girls group. She became incredibly toxic, and it was unbelievably hard to separate myself from her.

But I did and I'm so much happier now. I think you will be too, good luck man.

my sister started university a bit more than a month ago or so (think it sarts a bit later where I live) and she does all osrts of social justice, gener theory classes and I am pretty worried she will fall into this category of women

I have experienced the ***EXACT*** same thing. Granted I never had a female "best friend" (I'm not sure that really exists), but I'd say a good 80-90% of my female friends I grew up with turned into man-hating feminist harpies AFTER college.

I truly believe, as you pointed out, that higher education is the number one killer of women's minds. That & excessive social media consumption, constantly pointing out how terrible men are and how dangerous the world is.

Exactly. Either they A) Remain "feminine" and literally force men to do their homework for them (which produces SO MANY women we see nowadays that cannot grasp their job for the life of them, or...

B) Go full-feminist and disregard the men they abuse... which means they fail at their majors of study (surprise surprise) and revert to some kind of "liberal arts" degree or easy line of study that depends on their opinions only, not facts or results (such as STEM or the like).

Your winning argument in this situation (against your friend's toxic femininity influencer): "Let me see your grades. Then we will listen to your opinion."

Dude, that is a horrible experience but cool it with the sweeping generalizations. Women can survive college without being brainwashed into man-hating bots.

It is hard to do of course, and with all the validation it gets them, being wrong rewards them far more than being right does, but just as men, women are not a homogeneous institution, they are individuals, who are capable of reason, even when a lot of them choose not to scrutinize their own toxic behavior.

Word of advise, discuss this situation in private with your friend if you can, but as always, your mental health and well being are a priority.
