Has the modern world created an unequal playing field in terms of dating? Females now have unnatural power over selection where in the past the natural order had females depending on men for food, shelter and protection. Because females hold so much sexual power over men, men naturally held a balancing power with protection & providing, which created dating equality for the genders so to speak.

Nowadays females are more educated than men. Leading to the ability to provide for themselves, while still holding all the sexual power plus more because of social media, additionally they don't need protection because modern society's laws, order, and personal protection weapons.

This turn of events has given females so much sexual /dating power over the average man that most won't consider average or below average men anymore. (Hinge statistics shown the bottom 50% of men receive only 4% of likes) Females are holding out for attractive 6ft+, figures+, 6pack. Which actually hurts them in the end because they all fight over the top percentile of men which they all can't be with. Females are naturally hypergamous but when they're placed so high on the pedestal by society, given globalized dating, and modern societal norms and technology it leaves them dating up on such a minority while leaving the majority of men in the dust, which is why most men are single whereas most females are not single.

So what do you think? With the rapid development of technology in the last few decades I'd say it’s a new issues effecting newer generations, <40yr old.
