She was going to try and frame her boss. Never let an employee stay with you in your home or guest home.

[–]baskandpurr[🍰] 21 points22 points23 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I was wondering why losing temporary directorship was a motivation for false rape. My theory was that she was looking for sympathy. I'm not sure how framing one of the company directors was ever going to get her job back without implicating herself. But I guess she isn't really thinking it through that much. She doesn't like the turn of events so accuse someone of rape and figure out the details later.

At least she's being charged. We'll see if she spends a day in prison for it, but I'm glad she was charged.

[–]garblegarble12 17 points18 points19 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Clearly she has suffered punishment enough already in having her scheme uncovered. Poor woman.

/s.?

No tag is needed because no doubt this is an actual argument some asshat will use.

[–]Bitterant- 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Umm no.

No matter how shitty they judge, they'll never look at that as an excuse.

Ground yourself back to reality.

[–]Bwhitty23 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm sure it won't be taken seriously but you have to admit when people are backed in they throw excuses out there.

[–]Bitterant- 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh yes of course people will try to use it as an excuse.

I guess my argument is that most will not accept it as valid.

[–]CalvinHobb3s 15 points16 points17 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nah, they'll spin it that she felt threatened and didn't want to come forward so she "had to frame him in order to protect herself".

[–]UsernameIWontRegret 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's sad that we live in a society where we're pleasantly surprised by her merely being charged.

On mobile, no ad block. I get an annoying pop-up followed by an auto redirect. I don't care what this story is, that website is now blacklistsd

[+]cvgrunt 11 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

My phone started vibrating and had a ton of pop ups. First time that's happened.

[–]someredditorguy 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Same here. Ugh

[–]municipalpaste 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

If you're using alien blue switch to the optimum(I think it's called that) setting, I had the same problem.

[–]someredditorguy 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If that fixes it, it just masks the problem that is this website's ad integrity

Way to make it that much harder for real rape victims!

[–]genghiscoyne 24 points25 points26 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Anyone want to post this to /r/politics? If nothing else to see how fast it's gone.

[–]Zoltrahn 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, to be honest, I don't see why it should be in /r/politics. It is a criminal case that went exactly the way it should.

Has it come to the point men that we have to have Camera's hidden or not, and consent forms to protect ourselves in this society?

[–]Bwhitty23 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes

[–]copsgonnacop 15 points16 points17 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hey now, hold on just a second there buddy. Just because she misremembered that she was walking around and not sleeping doesn't mean she consented to sex! #StopVictimBlaming

[–]drawn0nward 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow, she is really, really stupid. This is hilarious!

[–]mriddell001 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Florida? Not what I expected but at least I've got some hope seeing that she's actually been charged. Let's see if they stick.

[–]squeak6666yw 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She was staying in a house it Pennsylvanian i believe. But she is from florida.

[–]MeowYouveDoneIt 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Here’s Why It’s Not Smart To Falsely Accuse Rape While Wearing Your Fitness Watch"

Sadly, a cost-benefit analysis of how the criminal justice system differentially treats men and women shows that it can be smart to do it if you don't wear the fitness watch.

[–]mcavvacm 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes yes, informing them how to escape jail time is indeed the smartest thing to do. Keep educating these woman on how to lock men up.

[–]totorox 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

if she says she's been raped then she has been raped.

[–]Alarid 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I can understand crimes that are hard to prove, or years after the fact, but it's like she knew so little about sexual assault that she was confident in just claiming it happened.

[–]redditorriot 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I suppose all she had to do was wait a month then claim it happened. Footprints become meaningless, forensics become much harder, she could've dumped her FitBit, etc. Guy's and company's reputation destroyed and facing prison, etc etc same old story.

[–]aspacemonkie 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I would abstain from giving the radical feminists advice like this.

[–]redditorriot 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women don't lie about rape! What possible reason would there be! Case closed shitlords!

Perhaps the most relevant part of the investigation is that before the alleged attack, Risley’s boss had just informed her that she would no longer be a temporary director with the company.

Her sexist boss fired her because of patriarchy!
