That's what you get when you are told from childhood (every cartoon/movie/game) that your worth, value comes from having/protecting a woman. It's nice having someone to share your life with, but with the imbalance in rights/power it's really not worth it.

Some men realize marriage and family law is biased against them and they decide their desire for family is worth it. So long as they know and accept the risk, it’s their choice.

I think far too many however don’t really understand the risk. They are told marriage is life long despite statistics showing otherwise. I know when I was young, the pressure put on me to marry by parents, by girlfriends, by friends, by society in general was huge.

I think I’m very fortunate that a couple early relationships didn’t work out giving me the time and wisdom to objectively evaluate marriage and figure out marriage most certainly wasn’t in my self interest, this long before I ever heard the term MGTOW.

Even when I’d tell girlfriends I’m not the marrying type, and they said okay, inevitably, I’d get the “where is this relationship going” issue. Even when it’s clear from the get go there will be no marriage, the pressure can be extreme. I get why some guys give into it.

All the guys i know that are married are giant pussies wrapped around their wives finger. They ask permission to do things. They spend all their time working and have all their money spent by their wives.

One of em married a girl who cheated on him at least 3 times, another i caught him banging a bridesmaid at a wedding and then within 5 minutes accidentally found his future wife (gf at the time) banging some dude in a truck in the parking lot. They have kids now.

The issue really isn’t marriage. It’s divorce. When divorcing in the US men are treated as living, breathing ATMs. Divorce drives many to suicide all so some sexist judge can “protect the woman.”

Because women know this, and once married, it creates an extremely unhealthy power dynamic.

Loose half their assets? Well if the woman has given up her career to look after the children she deserves half the assets. Unless you prefer the men to keep all the assets and women to have 100 percent custody of the children. In 1/3 of relationships women earn more than men. I believe God made man and wife. Anyone you meet could turn out to be a psycho. If you choose to distance yourself from all women, one of your bros could murder you. Having any relationship requires putting yourself at risk. But my parents have been married for over 35 years, and my dad’s parents were married from the time they were teenagers until my grandfather died in his 70’s.

I think this “Team Man vs. Team Women” stuff is a bunch of jaded, unattractive bull, and it makes MRAs look like the miserable, scorned women-haters they stereotype them to be. It’s just like women who say all men are dogs, all men are manipulative, etc. I believe that generalizing people and putting them on teams based on things they can’t control, like their sex, does not reflect how we should be and leads to misery and resentment all around.

There ARE problems with divorce and with alimony and with child-custody, but there are also good, godly women still in this world. I’m married to one, and she’s been with me through hell I can’t even believe I’ve lived through. She could be with someone a lot more healthy with a lot more money, but she has spent the last almost seven years pouring love into my life when even my own mom was too overwhelmed with my health struggles to be around me. We can talk about everything. When I was sick, she had timers on her phone to remind her to pray for me throughout the day. She’s not on a pedestal because she has a vagina, and I’m not her little toy that she rules over. I hold her in such high esteem because she’s a wonderful human being who is also stunningly beautiful. I hope every man can one day find a woman like her.

I have no desire to get married, every married couple I know seems more or less miserable after five or 10 years, I’ve never been able to date a girl for more than six myself. I can’t find a single wise reason for a man to get married. You gain nothing you couldn’t have had without it. But your life gets destroyed if things don’t work out. I get it if you want children it does stabilize custody, and consolidates things, but that’s not worth the risk of leaving your stability up to an emotionally fickle human being that may decide to destroy your life, over something stupid.

There are emotional and intelectual benefits to being in a long-term relationship with a woman.

They still put women on a pedestal, sacrifice everything for them, and have no issues with the potential consequences should their woman leaves them in a divorce.

Most wives support the family as home managers, which gives their husbands one less thing to worry about. Some wives support their husband's business interests.

Most married men assume their wives won't divorce them. While 80% of divorces are initiated by women, about half of marriages end up in divorce. The higher up on the socio-economic scale the family, the less likely the marriage ends in a divorce.

This is an unpopular opinion, but I'd argue that a lot of men actually want to buy into the asinine delusion that a proper marriage will provide your life joy and a nice share of the burden.

Sometimes I wonder how the shift of anime went from shows that are actually decent and innovative in stories to the mainstream shallow and stupid romance + softcore porn stuff and gain popularity. I think the truth is that not a lot of people are willing to see through these obvious lies.

Do you think these people have never experienced any arguments between their parents? Do you think these people have never heard of the threats of divorce between spouses? Do you think these people have never observed that the violence of women against men in mainstream movies and dramas is usually justified? There is a fundamental difference between neglect and ignorance. They chose to ignore the risks of marriage and the imbalance of rights and power between the two sexes.

We cannot expect everyone to pay attention to these matters, but I'm glad that at least stories of the inequality and injustice experienced by men in this sub are like the antithesis challenging the mainstream feminist "patriarchal" worldview, which may bring us closer to the truth of the world we live in.
