How would a man defend himself physically without being charged?

Remove yourself from the situation. The only choice men have anymore is to choose not to participate.

If you're able to, get out your phone and start filming asap.
Back up and try to deescalate the situation as much as you can. Call for help if possible
If you can't remove yourself from the situation, use necessary force to restrain her from harming you
Make a backup copy of the video directly after the incident

If you forget step 1, you're basically at the whim of the woman. I personally would call the police after the incident and after I backed up the video evidence. But that is at least a questionable step as you will be considered automatically as the primary aggressor.

Being charged is your only fear? random people can kill you, there have been cases like this already. Remove yourself from the situation.

If it is being captured, then there are options.

I made the right choice when faced with this exact dilemma many years ago. The best and only thing to do is run and never look back. Don't fight back; you will end up in jail.

In my case I could have fought back "In self defense". But police don't usually see it this way. Had I not turned around and walked away I'd probably have a criminal record right now. All because my girlfriend at the time accused me of checking out another girl at the bar. She got violent, I just walked away. Damn, I really wanted to fight back but that wasn't the answer (and it rarely is even when confronted by a man)....

It depends entirely on the situation, as far as I'm concerned.

My general rule is if someone attacks me, male or female, and I've done nothing to deserve it, give back what you get and leave, quickly.

She gets mouthy, get mouthy back.

She slaps you for no reason, do the same back.

Full on punches you in the face? Thats assault. Either call the cops (best thing to do anyway), or push her on her arse and walk away. Just because she doesnt have a dick down there does not make her a special little snowflake. You assault me, you're going on the floor. Simple as that.

Just know this. If a women pulls out a baseball bat and whacks you. Just leave. Taking the bat from her or shoving her away will land you in prison

Mostly, you push them off, deflect, move back, block. I've read that the average woman is 60% as strong as the average man. So, unless she catches you by surprise and/or has a weapon, most of the time you're going to be all right. Until you run into somebody exceptional and/or trained. Then you hope you can outrun her.

My sister used to go into rages and try to knock me around. I was in decent shape, she wasn't, and I was a lot bigger than her. The worst part was controlling my own urge to knock her silly.
