High school girls admitted to targeting and falsely accusing a boy of sexual assault because they 'just don't like him'. Boy was fired from his job, forced to serve time in a juvenile detention facility, is now home-schooled and suffers psychological trauma. School officials just didn’t care.

Equality feels like oppression to those who have privilege.

[–]HNutz 42 points43 points44 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"How DARE you treat me like a man!"

Equality? Barely - if she was a man, good God, how much would she be dragged and pilloried. She's fortunate, and she STILL gets to run her mouth

Hill announced on Sunday that she would resign from Congress amid allegations that she had engaged in two inappropriate relationships with subordinate employees. She admitted to having a relationship with a female campaign staffer but denied any relationship with a male congressional staffer.

She could have just admitted, "I honestly thought banging my staff was OK, since I'm a woman."

Works when they have sex with boys.

Holding women to the same standards that men are held to is something which happens so rarely that the few women affected are confused, upset and angry about being treated like men.

The only solution is to hold women to the same standards as men much more often, then eventually women will get used to it and finally understand what "equality" really means.

[–]bravado 39 points40 points41 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Tell that to Al Franken?

[–]angry_cabbie 20 points21 points22 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Or Anthony Weiner.

[–]Sad_banker 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or Patrick Brown

If you are born the appropriate gender reality is flexible. Rules don’t apply. Do as you please, blame everyone. All hail feminism. Soon to be their poster child.

[–]RapeMatters2 61 points62 points63 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And text messages between the staffer and the husband have both of them talking about her being a domestic abuser (and him too).

There's a double standard here for sure. But I don't think it's the one she thinks.

Do you have a link?

[–]menstruatrix24 points 6 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I applaud her efforts to combat the double standard by graciously accepting responsibility for the consequences of her choices and actions.

Watch everything that went down around her, she has been lying non-stop since she made it to the house and started crying abuse the moment she got called out

[–]Lion_amongst_gods 27 points28 points29 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Of course it's a double standard. If a male congress person works on the hair of his female staff naked, he wouldn't get such a lenient treatment.

[–]raffu280 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In reality, "weakness" always needs to gain sympathy by playing the victim - despite evidence otherwise.

[–]DolphinsAreOk 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Can you explain a bit more? I never heard of her.

[–]Metraxis 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

She had a sexual relationship with at least one staffer. Think Weiner.

[–]DolphinsAreOk 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks!

[–]dontpet 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh. So is it illegal or something to have an affair or a bonk with a subordinate? I'm uniformed where the line is on this.

[–]Karissa36 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There is no real line. It is not illegal if it is consensual. It is not even sexual harassment if it is consensual. The problem occurs when people say they were coerced into it due to the power differential. Arising from this has created the general belief that sex with a subordinate coworker is always unethical. Members of Congress must adhere to high ethical standards. So she left voluntarily before they kicked her out.

[–]carlsberg24 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She takes responsibility like a champ. A real role model.

[–]TheDwiin 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

I love that it's justice when men get held accountable for their sexual promiscuity, but when a woman is held accountable it's a "misogynistic double standard."

The only thing that she was treated differently on is that her nudes were leaked which is unjust, but she was still probably in the wrong.

[–]StraightGangstaHack 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Uh, we literally had to see Anthony Weiner's cock in the news.

So, not even that.

[–]TheDwiin 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

That was unjust as well. Revealing a Congress members genitals to the general public shouldn't be a way to get them to resign.

[–]__pulsar 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Okay but you said "The only thing she was treated differently on is her nudes were leaked" but we have examples of the same thing happening to men. (with more graphic pictures)

The only difference between her and a man having similar photos leaked is that the media would vilify the man and portray the women as a victim.

[–]JaxJags904 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Right, it was wrong, but it wasn’t gender specific.

[–]StraightGangstaHack 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Unpopular opinion: ripping bonghits and fucking other people, with and without her husband's approval (or participation lol) is of no concern to me, and honestly I would prefer politicians that are honest about it to those who lie (and how many other elected officials have things on the side? It's gotta be above the 50% national average).

But until men can resume fucking their employees, my dear, I'm afraid you must keep it in your pants as well, otherwise you might pay a small fraction of the same penalties a man would.

[–]orbitaldecayed 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Brave of her. The apalling double standard where people thing women should be able get away with things men cannot must end. #Mentoo. Well done, Katie, well done.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Privilege wasn't so bad after all, was it? Too late now. You wanted change, so you got it.

Maybe we can draft you to the front lines of the next war, too. Or is that not the equality you were looking for?

[–]Mens_rights_matter2 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

She quit because she knew she fucked up and didn't want any kind of investigation. It is funny how the media and her change the photographic evidence submitted by her husband to "revenge porn." Somehow the victim in this story has become an evil man. Hmmmm?

[–]Karissa36 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

What else would you call it? She did not know the pictures existed, she never gave consent for the pictures to be taken and she definitely didn't agree to distribute them. If that's not revenge porn, what is? Also I believe that's her ex-husband.

The actual theoretical victim here is the subordinate coworker. Except she is not complaining. Which doesn't make it right of course. Katie Hill should still have lost her job. That does not mean it is ok for her naked pictures to be unwillingly distributed over the internet. Or for them to have been taken without her consent in the first place. Which by the way is illegal in most States even if you are married and/or in a consensual relationship.

Act two on this play is that Katie Hill's ex-husband is about to be prosecuted. Both for secretly taking those pictures of Katie Hill and the subordinate coworker and for distributing them.

[–]Mens_rights_matter2 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Its called incriminating evidence. If it was revenge porn why did she quit? I'll tell you why, because she didn't want an investigation. We'll see how it turns out but at least we got one more crazy witch that abuses her position of power out of office. That's called progress.

[–]Karissa36 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It is both revenge porn and incriminating evidence. The two are not mutually exclusive.

[–]Mens_rights_matter2 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Women good and men bad, I see your point. Keep denying what wrong she has done and point fingers at anyone else. The soon to be ex-husband is an easy target, surprise surprise. You love putting yourself on a pedestal and giving advice. I bet you are a democrat and love to hate Trump. You love to redirect blame just like the had Nancy Pelosi. Got any legal advice for the ex-husband? I doubt it.

[–]Karissa36 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You clearly have not read all my comments. It is most certainly incriminating evidence and she should have lost her job. Advice for the ex-husband? Get a lawyer.

[–]dudemanyodude 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's a bummer. Honestly, I hadn't heard of her before those pictures came out, and those just made me think she was cool! But the more I learn, the worse it gets

[–]UltimaterializerX 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There’s a double standard alright, but not the one she thinks. Democrats can literally do no wrong, but if someone remembers Kavanaugh having a beer in 1982 then Katie bar the door.

Frankly, I don’t care or get offended over what consenting adults do. Good on her. It’s using taxpayer money to do it and having a literal iron cross tattoo that’s the problem, and then crying foul about it.
