genuinely, why is this still a common argument? why SHOULD the man always pay? i’ve always offered to split the bill with my boyfriend unless he insists he wants to treat me. is it just because back in the day, it was commonplace for the man to pay because women didn’t work? i suppose it has just carried on from then..?

Not to sound harsh, but- you were using Youtube. What exactly do you expect? As far as Google is concerned, there are two types of people: the first group, they needn't worry about offending, because they've shown they'll stick around no matter what the company does. The second group, they needn't worry about offending, because they've already stopped using it (or never did in the first place).

The net result is not hard to figure out. Never trust a company that can't spell its own name correctly.

What is “her side of the bargain”? As far as I know there isn’t one. It’s not like it’s societally acceptable to assume a woman owes anything just because a man pays for a date.

The man paying is just an antiquated idea.

Women have jobs and careers now. Young women out earn young men now. Women make up the majority of university students and graduates which means higher earning potential and that the trend will continue. Women are hypergamous, but when they all have careers and more money than men, they set their sights on men with so much money that they don’t need to pay for a date to signal their wealth.

Not only do i always pay for dates with woman, especially ones i initiate, but I normally pay the bill if i take a mate out too. Even if its a group, i hate splitting bills, it usually come back to you

Its proper etiquette to pay if you are the one that asked somone to dinner no matter who it is. "Taking someone out." Or "Taking them to dinner" is you saying you would like to treat them to dinner. If you do not want to pay ask them in a different way. "Do you want to get a bite to eat, I'm going here for dinner would you like to come?" It makes it less formal than a date, especialy if the place is not very fancy or expensive.

On youtube you get banned by a bot, for language usually. You didn't get banned for saying men shouldn't pay.
