All the waves were bad. But if it makes you feel better, easier to criticize only the "third wave" (though isn't it 4th wave by now?) do what you must.

Why is history important? Because hate movements use history to justify hate in the present day. Whenever you hear a feminist say some throwaway line like "women were oppressed by men forever" it's (1) false but more importantly it's (2) bigotry because it's claiming that if men hundreds of years ago sinned then men of today must be punished for other people's sin - because all men are the same.

I like to use the term radical feminism instead of just feminism and then be extra clear that the dictionary definition of radical feminism is the belief in the patriarchy, male oppression of women, and male privilege. So it's not something they can squirm out of by referring to TERFs and the crazies on Twitter.

Modern day feminism is radical. Calling it radical feminism is correct. And the only people who will get upset at you for it are the radicals.

And yes it comes from the 3rd wave but it's continued in the 4th wave. 4th wave radical feminism is called intersectional feminism.

2nd wave feminism was called liberal feminism and that was before we had patriarchy theory and all that nonsense.

Our task is to convince people that feminism is a vile ideology with dangerous, unjust consequences. We will not be able to do that if we can't even bring ourselves to openly criticize feminism.

Also, no one knows what 3rd waveism is. If all people hear is that some "men's rights activists" are going around complaining about something called "3rd waveism," then we will sound like a bunch of conspiracy theorists (more than we already do to many people).

All "waves" of feminism are the same, going back to Seneca Fall, NY in 1848. It is just that in older times their propaganda was more timid, due to expected social reactions. They lost all self-control and timidity by the 3rd wave, now they are totally uncontrolled and you see the result. But don't be misled: the Declaration of Sentiments in 1848 clearly spells out the misandry that is to come.
