It looks like they are trying to remove the barriers for women reporting crime to the police. But there's no reason that the initiative should be for women only. There are plenty of barriers for men reporting crime as well.

If you are in Australia and want to write to your Police Commissioner about this here are some points you might want to make.

It's important to reduce the barriers for people reporting crimes to the police
Both women and men face barriers when reporting domestic violence to the police
One of the barriers that men face is people thinking that men are unlikely to be victims of DV and therefore they won't be believed.
The police providing a female-only service reinforces that problem.
The police a required to serve everyone without discrimination
Targeted solutions should only be used if more general solutions are not going to work
The Argentine model provides a number of services to women including social workers, lawyers, psychologists, as well as police officers. These services should be as easily accessible to men if they are provided to women.

This is going to have a ton of serious problems.

Crime is going to be rampant as criminals are not intimidated and can overpower them
False accusations are going to be readily persecuted as more women are more likely to believe the accusers.
Those same female officers might go on power-trips and arrest men they don't like simply because they are male and try to pin an offense on them they never did.

As a Australian criminal body builder, it was hard commiting crime because a cop man would beat me, but now since the police stations are all female, NO ONE CAN STOP ME! /s

I would like to see this happen to be honest. I would bet that if they do try this, they will find the number of police shootings and abusive behavior will be higher at all female precincts than at mostly male precincts. And if I'm wrong, great. I love being proved wrong.

Its only a proposal, and not all police stations. Dont take it out of context so you can run with the fabricated outrage and make something out of nothing. Till now women have mostly had to report DV to men, there was no problem then was there?

And if they werent so dismissive when women reach out for help, there would be no need to try something else.

As currently the DV statistics in this country are appalling. Something needs to be done, too many people are getting hurt.

Why not try this? if a man wants to report he can choose one of the police stations that isnt run by only women. I dont see how this negatively impacts men at all as typically after an incident is reported, the police come out to where the incident took place rather than you going down to the station.

This would certainly help vulnerable women be taken more seriously, who often feel intimidated or are sent away due to technicalities or being told its a civil matter or that no crime has happened yet and to come back when one has. (Assuming shes not dead already.)

And as I said, its not all police stations so a man can go to a different one for follow up reporting if he chooses. If anything a man who is a true victim of DV may benefit from this service too. Until you have had to report an incident first hand, and know how male police officers treat you, talk down to you, talk over you, scoff, dismiss you, pass those looks between each other, relentlesly try to dissuade you from making a statement for any number of reasons and how often they just wont listen or take you seriously and simply turn you away, you probably should not weigh in on this too much.
