Yes. Yes they should.

Right now, accusers who lie about sexual abuse are criminally liable for filing a false report and perjury, as well as civil sanctions for defamation, but legal consequences rarely occur.

Whod've thought that not enforcing consequences for actions could lead to people perpetrating such actions more frequently?

First thing: stop referring to people as "victims" and start referring to them as "accusers".

Yes, but this is tricky ground. The accuser must be proven beyond a doubt to have lied or falsified information with intent to harm. It can not be a "failed to convict" is an automatic reverse conviction. I would argue in needs to be a whole separate trial. I'm still not entirely clear how this would work in my head. My biggest fear would be convicting an actual rape victim and how to ensure that can't happen.

The time is long overdue, and the fact that false accusers have basically been given a 'free pass' to use this tactic as their own personal weapon, is proof positive of just how one-sided the law has become, and how corrupted its principle of equality under the law (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equality_before_the_law) is now.

In an ideal world, yes. A couple problems come to mind:

Wouldn’t punishing false accuser disincentivise people who make false rape claims from being truthful?

Would this require it’s own separate trial? People accused of falsifying rape accusations deserve due process, too.
