I don't know about you but every time I read one of the many anti Men's Rights articles that have appeared recently (such as the alternet one currently on the front page) I cannot help but feel that we are winning.

The authors and their fans profess hatred for the movement, slander it as much as they possibly can, and are generally disdainful of anything to do with men's rights. BUT in every one of these articles the authors make sure to talk about how there are legitimate concerns:

tended to drown out the voices of the more moderate and pro-feminist men’s groups fighting important social issues that affect men, such as sexual abuse in prisons, child custody rights, lack of shelter for homeless men and high fatal workplace rates.

The fact that no one was talking about these things or paying attention to them until the MRM hit the headlines is obviously omitted from the articles. I have spoken to people - who hate the men's rights movement as they have seen it portrayed in the media - who now know about some of these issues. They want to help fix them, even if they believe the MRM is actually doing more harm than good.

I guess what I am saying is the cliche 'no publicity is bad publicity'. Every time one of these articles appears they are helping to report on these issues even as they slam all of us for talking about them.

I'd rather see more people educated and working to fight these issues even if they think anyone identifying with the movement is scum.
