The privilege to go die at the order of someone else, or kill others to survive

The privilege of having our genitals skinned as children, to women's preference

The privilege of having our truama's dismissed and invalidated, because they might reflect poorly on women

The privilege of having our sexual assaults ignored at best or used as mocking and bullying material, for women's amusement

The privilege of having work forced upon us, as well as risk, specifically to the benefit of women at our detriment, leading to far lower life expectancy

The privilege of having women steal our assets and children

Male privilege doesn’t exist in western society.

(1) They say that we are privileged in hiring and that wage gap exists but this is not true.

Affirmative action exists. Women in fact get hired more than men do. More if they’re minority.

Wage gap just isn’t true. It doesn’t account for the extra days of time off women take, the more overtime men work, maternal leave, the fact that men are better negotiators when it comes to negotiating raises or job apps, jobs worked (men work in more dangerous, harder, higher paying jobs than women do), etc. Women get paid less because they choose careers like teaching, nursing, day care worker while men choose the trades, STEM, etc.

(2) Males can walk at night, women can’t.

Men suffer from way more homicides, assaults than women do. Not saying women don’t, but this never gets talked about.

(3) Men rule the world, we live in a patriarchy.

The top 0.01% of people rule the world, and most happen to be men. Why is this? Because men are more likely to start entrepreneurial ventures and be rewarded for it. Men have to perform, for women it’s optional. That is why men have a higher propensity to be billionaires than women do. Choice.

Also, no matriarchy has stood the test of time while patriarchies have. We wouldn’t have all modern inventions without a “patriarchy”.

Also, women love to complain that men hold all the positions of power and that women aren’t represented enough and that we need more women presidents and CEOs and whatever. But why don’t they ever complain that 90+% of bricklayers, roofers, air traffic controllers, oil rig workers, farmers are men? They just want the easy and power positions.

(4) Men are respected for sleeping around and women aren’t.

True, but there is a reason.

For a man to attract a mate he has to be a certain height, have status, be rich (or rich enough), be funny, be charismatic, know how women work, be ambitious, work out, invest in good style, etc.

And even when men has all this he has to initiate dates, lead, plan out where they go, make the first move, carry convos, reach out, etc.

And even then it is ultimately up to the women, not the man if he can even have sex.

All while women just have to show up or login in to Instagram to have a bunch of sex offers.

It is not the same. What ever is harder is always respected more.

As men, we have the right to be:

Obligated to always pay for dinner

Looked at suspiciously if anywhere near a child

Guilty of sexual crime, even with zero evidence

Physically, verbally and emotionally abused by women

Without custody of children and/or home in family court

Blamed for infidelity, regardless of who committed it

Financially responsible for children if raped by a woman

Financially responsible for children unbioligically related

Financially responsible for children, even if wife cheated

Deemed "creepy" just for looking at or speaking to women

Sexually harassed by women in private AND in public

Solely faulted in DV cases, regardless of the instigator

Front and center to any burglar/home intruder

Ridiculed when crying or showing emotion

Rendered inadequate if laboriously/mechanically unskilled

Condemned if wearing clothing of the opposite gender

Isn't "Equality" GREAT??!

No. Rich men, who were born into powerful families, get to run the world. The vast majority of men through history have suffered much more than the average woman, under "the Patriarchy."

A popular list of supposed male privileges starts by saying men are privileged in job hiring which is laughable given that affirmative action privileges women over men in job hiring. There are other supposed privileges which are simply fictional, some simply taking a female privilege and claiming the opposite.

Many of course simply look at any difference between men and women and claim privilege when the difference noted has nothing to do with privilege. Men being physically stronger on average may have some advantages but it’s not due to men receiving any privilege. Men choosing certain careers or working more similarly has nothing to do with privilege. Choice is not privilege. Privilege is dictated.

“ A privilege is a certain entitlement to immunity granted by the state or another authority to a restricted group, either by birth or on a conditional basis. ..By contrast, a right is an inherent, irrevocable entitlement held by all citizens or all human beings” (1)

If someone claims privilege but it doesn’t match the definition of what a privilege actually is, call them on it.

People are way too black and white these days. As a man yes I am privileged in certain aspects of life, but I’m also at a disadvantage in plenty of other areas. Black and white thinking destroys moderate and logical thought.

I'm not in law enforcement and I'm not aware of any illegal activities that are not common knowledge, I'm not helping to cover up anything and I do value honesty as well. This is a very interesting conversation
